Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Only a couple.

Well, kind of.

- GT GTB track bike for track/long road rides.
- Seiber track frame mostly built-up (I stole the wheels for the GT, but it's getting new ones anyway), which will be for dicking around in the city.
- Sekai road frame getting rebuilt for a winter fixed with a brake and fenders and whatnot.
- SS MTB.

There's a Trek road frame out there not doing a whole lot right now, and half a dozen wheelsets laying around, plus my roommate's bike.

I've got a dime(see sig).

These help:

I've got two and they work great. Very stable, even on carpet. Tried one of the Topeaks, but it fell over...with my Cannondale on board!

Also have one of these down in the parking garage:

MTB, Road, Fixie, SS per person of the household. If you want another bike, reproduce!

Does the ninja bike flip out and kill people? 'Cause that's what I'd call the REAL ULTIMATE POWER!

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa:
When I started thinking about fixies I had only 17 year old Romet Sport. Good ride, Reynolds 531 steel, 9.5kg, too relaxed angles. Now, in addition to it, I have:

2)steel Gianni Motta lugged funny TT bike, subsequently partially equipped with period correct C record parts, not ridable (yet)
3) titanium/carbon road bike acting to be Pinarello, which I have build frame up
4)FGG #2402, converted TT, which gets most miles.

I have just bought two more frames including another titanium one: Tri Wheeler T1 for $70 - do you think I can fix a bike with 650c wheels?

I've currently got:

700c fix.
26" ss mountain/winter bike.
Road bike.
3-speed coaster (bar/train station cruiser).

and another road frame waiting for me to get bored.

I'd like:
Tourer, possibly a recumbent.

when they start deteriorating in your care....other than by regular use. when you can no longer care for them, it's time to find them better homes.
