New wider tires, new mudguards to fit them, new bottom bracket and a fresh coat of Proofhide on the ol' Brooks B17

Thank you! The aesthetics of fixed-gear bikes depend to a large extent on where they will be ridden - the absolute minimal builds you post are ideal for an urban area, the saddlebag and fenders look works for rides out into the back of beyond. Still, ALWAYS the truth of the single gear. And yes, I DO sometimes ride bikes with derailleurs and such, but the lure of the lone cog is a very strong one.

Horses for courses

Agree completely - lots of different bikes can be fun and a bike set up for here can be a compromise there.

so many bikes - such little time

so it goes

Figured I'd take advantage of this thread to post some of the setups I've been running on my bikes this year (nothing can be left as is!! Fiddling is a must!!) planning on lowering the stem on these flat bars a little bit at a time, a tad too high maxed but slammed will probably be too low.

Generally the setup I've been using on my KHS, planning on getting a stem-mounted out front mount for it to clear space for a brake lever, also playing musical saddles a little and throwing my San Marco Trilon on it.
