anyone had any experience with the Mavic CXP 22 wheelset from harris or wherever? good/bad?

Those came on my 03 Pista. I put them on a bike for my girl friend and she's ridden them for 2 years with no problems (and she rides every where.)

I built those up for The Girl™ earlier this year and so far so good. They came a little untensioned so she got them trued after a month or so but they hold up well and they look nice too. They're Formula hubs so they seem to last.

Got the same set from Nashbar in April, and had to have them trued within 50 to 100 kms. I'm sure some will say, well why didn't you true, stress relieve and whatever them? What's the point of buying a complete wheelset if you have to do that?

That said, I should have known better anyway. Also keep in mind I'm a clyde, graceful though I am. I'm currently waiting for replacement locknuts from Nashbar - went to change my cog and when I undid my rear wheel my driveside one fell off in two pieces. I don't think you should ever break a locknut. I have less than 300 kms max on these wheels.

And my track nuts round off extremely easily, but maybe I'm sloppy, and I only have an adjustable wrench, but be warned. If you buy the hubs from IRO or nashbar or Bens bike and the rims from your local shop, you could probably pay your shop to build them right for the same price as the wheelset. Wish I'd'a thought of that four months ago. I've decided that these will go on a winter bike I'm building and will save my empties for the fabled Phils or something next year.

I have a pair on my Bianchi road bike. I have around 350 miles on it. Had the bike for a month now. They are perfect never had any problems. Even tho i am careful what i go over, but every now and then you cant avoid some stuff and no problems.
