All City Super Professional
This one is actually for sale (this model fits huge for me, I'm tall) here locally. Super nice (if not a bit heavy) and versatile. Some people complain the sliding dropouts are fiddly, but if one take their time they should be fine. Nice details, and finishing as well. I've even seen people set these up fixed gear.

Great bikes in this sub-forum. Here's my 1950 Sun Wasp 'Massed Start' which started out life as a UK-made derailleur equipped bike, designed for massed start races with derailleurs in the continental style of the day. It was built with Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing and the frame+fork weighs about 6.2 pounds. At that time in the UK, time trials were more common, and gearing options were typically hub gears (sturmey archer hubs), fixed, and single speed for competitive and touring cycling. Derailleurs were becoming increasingly popular having been improved a lot by Cyclo-Benelux and Simplex and others, which was why this model was introduced. In any case 76 years later its set up fixed, with late 1970s 27 x 1 1/4 Super Champion Mod. 58 rims, Normandy hubs, fixed/fixed in the back, with 70 gear inches for steady pace and 66 on the other side for a relaxed pace if I get tired on a long ride. I really like this bike. Changes since the photo - I replaced the modern no-name alloy crank with a TA Professional crank with a single ring off of my mid 70s Raleigh Competition, and it got new bar tape.

I guess I'll post my neighborhood cruiser here as well.
DB Sorento MTB converted to a single speed. Built mostly with extra parts laying around in the garage and parts bins. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9c65e99a9.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d041f2ae3.jpeg |

'92 GT Timberline in Daktari White with the original fork and quill stem. Threw some old GT handlebars on it and a mix of old and new stock parts. A bit of a frankenrider but I love it and its a tank! The sugino cranks are vintage and I plan on polishing those up. I tried to make it as budget of a build as possible.

never recognizing when I’m ahead, I keep pursuing the White Whale project as it presents one stupid problem after another. If I had just donated the frameset, happiness would be mine!!!! |
My buddy made me some decals for my bike. They turned out excellent in my opinion.

I still have these two:
83 Nishiki Olympic -Vuelta Pista rear wheel with aero spokes, State Bike Co front wheel -Sugino VP crank(now with bso steel nds), Stolen pedals, Race Face chainring -A Deora and Altus brakes, one of them is Deore 90 Giant Rincon, mostly stock outside of the conversion. It's hung up in a closet, so I don't see it much to remember all the changes. The bars, brakes, and stem are original. I had a 650b in the back. I think I found a red deep v wheel either for the front or back, and need the latter. I'm trying to make this as red as possible. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f517ad42f4.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6695e6b9ec.jpg And I forgot about my other red as possible build. My Next LaJolla. I always liked them when they came out, and this one was my stepdads. It's built up like a board tracker. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...80904ee5ab.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e12fac3d60.jpg Then there's the new one. It's got a bad paint job, so it's hard to tell what it is. It's an english bike. I think I recall seeing it ridden once or twice either last year, or the year before. Last year an exfriend found it, or claimed to, and wanted me to swap the backwheels for his bso mtb I converted to ss for him. I told him to hold off so I could see if it was stolen, due to where it was found. And I kinda wanted it whole, to get back in the fixie thing. I took these pictures and went to every bike shop I could think of, my riding groups discord, up to the co-op(how I found out what it was) and my IG, to see if it was stolen. My buddy's wheel was trashed, he ended up using the back wheel on the fixie side, and as hilarious as his story about it was, I wish I could've seen it. I want to murder it out, but also wanna leave it alone, get it riding in hopes the owner spots me, so I can give it back. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a46070a390.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0c0fff7808.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c879f4e2c6.jpg |
Built my first fixed gear this winter. I’ve ridden lots and lots of other bikes but never fixed. Found the frame at Veloswap for cheap. The derailleur hanger was mangled so I decided to get weird with it.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0d4514d98.jpeg 1981 Holdsworth Mistral frame. it’s a touring frame so the wheelbase is super long. I went for a bit of an English “tourist” style thing, and tried to get almost everything used or cheap (or both). Nitto North Road bars with cheap cork grips and Nitto Technomic stem. Andel Classic track crankset, kind of a Campy knockoff thing and the only real splurge. Beat up Velo Orange fenders. Old used 650B Japanese made wheelset with Panaracer Col de la Vie tires. Brooks flyer with a 70s Karrimore bag hanging off the back, a he latter came to me on another bike I bought for cheap. Anyway, it rides great. It’s not as aggressive and sporty as a track bike or some of the fixed gear conversions I see around the city. It’s a nice relaxed ride that gets me around the neighborhood. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7bbc7aa8b.jpeg |
rideable…… ish
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...dd2fba7c8.jpeg
maiden voyage? ….more like Ol’Hag shame walk…. got it together enough to ride 10 miles and not have to walk home. that’s saying something for the mechanic that put it together. gearing 40x22 is probably ok for trails. But rockin the suburbs I’m under geared. The flop side is an 18t freewheel. The drop out is too short to accommodate this flip flop set up. Maybe a 20t…. |
Nothings changed on it in a long time except maybe the saddle & I think I've posted it in front of the same background before but even with, or maybe cos all our years together - I love this bike madly

Howdy
Hey y'all here's my fixed, down in Texas. Got this frame in the mid-oughts when I was down at UT. It was the height of the fixie craze, couldn't shake a stick without hitting a Bianchi. Idk what the frame is, jet black no label. Steel, bladed fork. Idk if someone stole it and painted it or what but it rides nice. I just refit it after sitting unused for about a decade. Cane creek headset and brake, Velo Orange happy stem. Deity grips, seat, seatpost, seatpost clamp, valve covers. Origin8 crank and straps. 46 with a surly 17 cog and Soma chrome lockring. Weinmann ultimate power DP18s. 28 Gatorskins, black edition. I used to have it fitted out all black but decided life is more fun with a splash of color. This build is an homage to the fixies of that day, with some modern refinement and the aesthetic touches that I wanted by couldn't afford back then.

It's been awhile - Schwinn Paramount P14
I haven't ridden this a ton lately. Last season only a few times, after riding it a ton in 2024. I'm hopeful to have more balance with what I am riding now that the stable is reduced.
I've been focusing on refinement of what I already have, so this will be one of the last times I ride this in its current configuration. I have some new goodies, and a project upcoming for it. Currently with 30.5mm (measured) and it rides spectacularly. Edit: Schwinn Paramount P14 track bike, came pre-drilled for front and rear brakes (probably a custom request when ordered). I do have a cool head badge I have yet to put on, but don't know if I will decal this or not. Thanks for the questions on it. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...fc20cf378a.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7b5632f3ea.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f93b49afe4.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c87b8c6b68.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...27698338e0.jpg |
Highway to the Thunder Dome!
Mr Loggins would probably be upset. But maybe not.
I'm posting a lot lately, mainly because I have less bikes/crap and it's early season so I am taking it a little easier as I continue to get my fitness back. I swapped out/around some parts and got this built up over the winter. I still need to make some for adjustments including levers and get some bar tape on there. This weighs in just under 18 as shown with pedals and brakes which is pretty solid for a size 58. Nothing overly weight weenie, and I could probably shave some more weight if I really wanted. Unsure what year All City Thunderdome, in the hot pink blink colorway which is one of my favorites. The paint is spectacular in person in the sun. It has metal flake on it, and it really takes to light well. It does have some scratches and scuffs, but I got this for $475 complete and can't even complain. I might swap out the tires for something slightly larger (the Corsas ride beautifully though) and that will be about it. Smooth for aluminum (I think the fork helps) and the power transfer is nice. It gets up and goes very well. I miss All City. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...64157a6501.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1b31c57734.jpg |
