Corvettes are so cool

Downtown Anchorage
Some moron in a flashy, brand new red Corvette with T-Tops
Blasting super cheesey 80s music
I pulled up next to him at a 4 way stop, assumed my super cool track stand posture, and said, "Hey Dude, nice car."
He turned down the music and gave me a dirty look and said (all tough-guy like), "What did you say?"
So I shot back, "Nice car, small weiner?"
He glared at me and turned his stereo back up to 11, revved it & left me in a smoke cloud.
What a tool.

lol @ 11

I was buzzing behind a 60's mg driven by one of the beautiful people and I said, "nice little car" and this started the woman to beaming. She said thanks and went on her way.

i have an MG. but it's in Ohio. and it's from the 70s. and I'm probably not "one of the beautiful people".

cabana 4 life 09-08-05 02:11 PM

i gave a guy a ride in my pedicab the other night,he saw a new corvette and told me how sexy it was,all while sitting in a cab that reads "one less car" in big letters on the back.

jrowe 09-08-05 02:22 PM

T-Top? If it was new, it wasn't a T-Top. Removable roof panel, maybe, but not a T-Top. T-Top has a bar down the middle. Like on the Trans-Ams with the dead chicken on the hood.

You insulted the man for no reason, and he's a tool?

You missed the part where he used the tough guy voice/line "whated you say?" Gotta love slow days at work..

va_cyclist 09-08-05 03:01 PM

I didn't miss that part, but I also don't quite see where that makes him a "moron" and a "tool". If it were me I'd probably just ignore the dude in the 'vette, but it kind of sounds like the OP was itching for a confrontation.

jbaum_sf 09-08-05 03:09 PM

I cant belive Im even going here... but...

I believe the poster opened up with a compliment about the car... the driver didnt hear him, assumed it was a smart ass remark and got a little "tough" with his response... so then the poster gave him back just what he wanted to hear. Its cheaky and ironic.

konageezer 09-08-05 03:16 PM

Saw a guy taking photos of his (obviously new) Jaguar XKE in the park. Thought I'd be kind, since he was clearly quite proud.

Me: Nice car.

Guy: (flatly) I know.

Hate to introduce a new stereotype (and he wasn't fat) but there's just something about guys in Jags…

delay 09-08-05 03:19 PM

I beleive the word you were looking for was "*****in' " not "cool"

jbaum_sf 09-08-05 03:23 PM

Ive just been called a "F*ggot" too many times by guys in expensive cars. Anger always gets the better of me and I yell something equally as moronic back. Then they slow down to "play" and realize the paint job on their car isn't worth it... been ignoring it more lately.. so Im on the mend. :)

daveIT 09-08-05 03:40 PM

I was sincere when I said, "nice car", but that look and attitude he gave me changed my original statement. It probably was a removable roof...I'm not really a car guy so I didn't pay much attention.

It's a bit of an inside joke (nice car, small weiner or huge, jacked up 4x4 small weiner) at work too, so I chuckled inside.

sloppy robot 09-08-05 05:13 PM

im with va cyclist on this one... whats wrong with telling him you complimented his car? maybe he's perceptive and knew you were going to be an a$$... you proved him right.

FlatTop 09-08-05 06:51 PM

Maybe it's just a Corvette thing.

What's the difference between a Corvette and a cactus?

(the Corvette has the pricks on the inside)

gh-ap 09-08-05 06:55 PM

thass a good joke

wow - you should sue the state in which you received your education. They failed miserably at teaching you reading comprehension.

thanks for stopping by.

Plinkerton 09-08-05 07:13 PM

That's hilarious. I'd would have never thought to say it like that, so matter-of-factly.

Cause, I mean, we all know it's a fact. The penis thing...

that wasnt very nice, 165

i agree with him... maybe the prck is on the bike...he already admits he thinks dudes in sport cars have small weiners... his "inside joke"... so why do we assume his delivery was sincere? it prob. came out snide.. and obviously antagonistic...to which the dude was not feelin...and the biker dude proved him right in his first assumption..

so now one more person hates bikers.. yay.. the world is such a better place... this is why i hate critical mass...the entitlement is nausiating

pitboss 09-08-05 07:39 PM

win some, lose some.

This whole situation could have been avoided if everyone bought economical cars or took public transportion, OR (preferably) rode a bike.
It is obviously the car owner's fault as he was driving a nice car, which DaveIT thought invited a compliment. If the car was a 1988 Honda Civic rusted to the core, I am sure this never would have happened.

ps> never a masser. I hate Maoists...

sloppy robot 09-08-05 07:50 PM

well you better believe ill be driving a nice car soon and if one of you punk a$$ beotches even looks at me wrong.. ill be running you and your conversion over flat as a pancake (insert big smily grin emoticon here.. i hate those things)

i do that when people compliment my bike. mostly because i already know my bike is nice, thankyou, i don't need your approval. same thing when people tell me i have good balance when i'm trackstanding at a light.

Serpico 09-08-05 10:07 PM

the guy in the corvette, was his name chaz?

Plinkerton 09-08-05 10:09 PM

Or Ace? I bet his name was Ace.
