ques seat post

can someone recomend a seatpost that has more setback than your standard post?

more setback than a non-setback post? or more setback than your "standard" setback post?

I ask cuz the thomson isn't really set back that much. Something like 1.5cm to the front of the clamp. a "typical" setback is somewhere around 2cm.
Now there are ridiculously setback seatposts too. Like the Titec Hellbent (is that made anymore? it's damn ugly). The Look Ergopost offers 3 different setback distances (up to 3cm I believe). FSA make a few posts with large setback. As do RaceFace.
Even a cheapo Kalloy has more setback than a Thomson.

but if you wanted more setback than a straight post, then ignore me.
Thomson makes sweet posts.

what's the point of one of these? help a larger rider fit on a smaller frame?

I've seen them used for folks who have short-short legs compared to their torso, and they can't afford a custom frame. It effectively lengthens the top-tube, without making your stem ridiculously long.

I've also seen them used as a "forward" seatpost (flipped around so they are bent forward) to give a road bike more of a tri-bike style geometry. Makes using aerobars a lot easier because you aren't bent over as much.

That is all fine and dandy as long as you are not a KOPS nazi...
