REI Outlet had the Ultimate Pro for $145 a couple weeks ago. I got one and had it delivered to local REI for free.

Nashbar usually has a good deal on the cheap cheap minoura. I can't say whether or not it's a good value (I don't have one), but it certainly is cheap enough.

Build your own!!

I did and saved my self 70 to 100 dollars. It doesnt look that pretty as those you buy from parktools, but it works perfectly. Cost is roughly $30 to 35ish.

Look at this link if you are interested.

I have an ultimate, I like it, the only comparison I can make is to the ones that they use at the LBS, which are better, but not enough to justify the added cost.

Now, I am all for building stuff instead of buying, but I have to say - a bike like that deserves a real repair stand!

Edit: I hope this doesn't turn into a roundabout threadjacking, but does anyone recognize the old repair stand that Kevin Bacon has in his apt in Quicksilver?

i thhink i answered my ownn question.. ive worked in a bike shop before.. and if youve used those stands.. everything else gets a "you want how much for that?" ..ive been geeking on bikes my whole life so i think im just gonna spend the money and get the park prs-3.. which is basically just a real bike shop stand and im sure it would last me years to come..

im sorry but that homemade stand looks super jenky to me.. you should at least use some thicker pipe and attach a park wall mounted vice at the end.. just my opinion..thanks for all the answers though

i like rock stands, which are now also pedro's stands. they're super bling, super stable, and way easier to work with than the parks. but the shop i work at uses park stands. and the pedro's stands are wicked expensive. topeak makes a pretty nice stand. but for a portable/collapsable, the ultimate stands are the best i've seen.

What do you guys think about the Spin Doctor PRO G3 stand from Performance Bike? Right now it goes for $129 with tax so is it worth it? I must buy this by October 2nd. Any help would be great.

Thanks
