Is there anyone I can follow around that day just for fun? I didn't even have time to check out any of the checkpoints or the course itself and I doubt I'll have time next week. Plus I get lost easily and don't want to end up getting kidnapped.

Those joints scare the ***** out of me. Go across them at an angle, or watch them eat your rims whole!

...just did the course today. Took me a good 4+ hours. Of course, I stopped at Ho's place, got a burger in the Lower East Side, and swung by 49 E. Houston to say Hi to Judith, but still, it's a long course.

26.88 miles how i plotted it out. but that's all assuming that the only order you have to keep is starting on the east river @ 20th and ending there as well.

Just got back from riding the course..... It's a long course and the R.I. portion sort of
had me scratching my head, but got through the whole thing and took about 2 and a
half hours. Now to go rest lay down and rest my back....

you aint kiddin'! I basically walked my bike over that section of the bridge, and probably will do the same for the race. I hope for the best, but I have a feeling that someone’s going down there.

Anyone want to be designated checkpoint photographers for nybma.com? Amy Bolger's taking pics as usual, but she can't be everywhere. pm me if you're interested. I'd appreciate it.

okay so i never had the chance to ride this thing through, but i'm going to race anyway. someone fast who knows the course: don't get too mad at me for sucking your wheel...

i'm hoping to still have use of my finger (it's my favourite one!) by then... most of the day i didn't think it was broken but now i think it might be... or it might not, in any case it hurts like a bastard and i can't move it as much now as i could before. ow. it's been a bad day. quite bad.

I don't think I'll ride the course before then too, ***** keeps coming up to keep me from it. It seems to be pretty straight foward as far as checkpoints, nothing too hidden or obscure, except for the stop on RI and in Mespeth. Everything else seem alright so I'm gonna race anyways. Hope I don't get last, that would suck for my first alleycat.

I crashed an hour ago. my first one since 1994-1995 time frame.

the bike looks ok, computer seems ok (Im Typing on it) my hands and legs are hurting. Look out guys at the intersetion of 8th ave and 57th street.

There is a big crater with a concrete slab sticking up and will go in about 2-3 inches. The cops was right behind me so they asked if I was ok.I was making a left on 57th and didn't se the MF.
