Spokane Messengers/fixies?

I'm planning on moving to spokane in about a year and was just wondering if anyone knows a few things about the place. Are there any messenger companies out there? If not, could the city sustain a messenger company? What about fixie friendly bike shops or a fixie or dedicated cyclist community?

I've never been there, never really appealled to me as long as I was in seattle and now that I'm leaving hawaii in about a year to be closer to my girlfriend I was wondering what my options might be as far as staying in the cycling/messenger community.

I lived in northern Idaho for a while, a few miles across the border from Spokane. I can't say I've ever seen any bicycle couriers in the area. There's a lot of riders in the community, but I think the area is geared towards MTBs and touring. Around Gonzaga and out towards Opportunity and the eastern area sees a lot of bicycle commuting.

A lot of outdoor people live in the area, that's for sure. One of the Ironman qualifiers is in Coeur d'Alene, and I've met many people out climbing at the various crags. Whitewater and skiing pretty much covers the rest of the seasons.

I've been thinking that maybe Missoula, Montana might be able to support a messenger company, since the metro area's layout is pretty compact. I know there's a couple other local riders that lurk here, so hopefully they chime in.

I'll be doing Ironman Coeur d'Alene next June, via a flight into Spokane :)
