SF: shoutout to mikorp

i want to give big ups to mikorp for his huge part in making the fix/ss/whatever community here a good place.

he works his a$$ off getting sponsors, organizing events, and spreading the word.

he doesn't have to do it; he's got a family, he's a hot$hit photographer (http://www.michaelmartin.com/), and he could leave it at that, but he doesn't, he puts time and effort into making stuff happen because he cares and thinks it's important. (plus, he's got some pretty mad skillz on a bike).

so my thanks to him, and the rest of the folks who help keep the community alive and together; not just on big weekends like this one, but for the smaller things as well, the ones that may not get noticed but are just as important

Just coming back from the hooligan picnic. was a great turnout. about 100 people, 2 kegs, and cash prizes. 28 racers, will post the times and stats tomorrow. thanks to everyone who took part. sf comes together, and that makes me prowd. thanks to brendt at the bike film fest. we could not have had such a great bike culture weekend with all brendt's love for everything bicycle. we all meet on this common ground. we look forward to next year, and what it brings. in the meen time, will see you in the streets as we finish production on M*A*S*H this winter. we are still selling mash t-shirts as fund raiser for a couple injured riders from the video. please pay it forward. it's a great cause. send me your info if you want one. info@mikorp.com

Plus, he was the owner of my all-time favorite bike (until it broke):

The fake Kuwahara

A bike I plan to copy when I find the right frame...

A good time even though i couldnt stay all the way through...sprints were fun, the games were fun, the beer was free!

yeah it was a great time, aside from my chain breaking in the sprint race, thanks for the effort! like i said, watching mash reminded me of what it was like as a kid seeing my firt skate video.

Thanks very much Mike! Ive never had so much fun: throwing myself into traffic; getting lost in dog patch; 15th place.

Next time, less getting lost, more throwing myself into traffic. (Hopefully without throwing myself into galen again.)

Clayton, glad to see you got a shirt. There was a lot of expected outcome on the podium over the course of the day, but I was happy to see your crazy stunt work rewarded. Putting a foot through the frame is one thing, but somehow you manage without getting greasy!? crazy.
