Carbon on a single speed?
Sorry if this has been asked a milion times I did a quick search and couldn't find it.
But I'm in the slow process of convertinga bike I have to a single speed, and I've been spoiled by my road bike. Would I be shunned by the singlespeed/fixie riders if I have a carbon seat post and fork? Elvish |
not shunned but humiliated.

ride what makes you happy.
isn't that the point of bikes? |
Yeah do something you want to do. Shunning is so 2004.

Carbon is great stuff. I say use it and let the detractors enjoy their road vibrations and numb hands.

The item to be chromed is placed inside a dome shaped glass vacumm chamber. The item is suspended near the top of the chamber. When all the air is pulled out of the chamber, a sample of the plating metal (chrome in this case) is flash melted and evaporated using lots and lots of heat. The vaporized metal disperses all through out the chamber and because of it is small molten particles, will stick to just about everything. Flip the fork over and repeat. :D |

The particles are hot but very very small therefore they transferr very low amount of heat.
Some joker gold plated a lady bug this way and as he put it under a microscope to see his creation, it walked away. |
