Paul McCartney on a fix
uhh i cant find the pic online but you can see it in the new issue of rolling stone.
At least Ringo isn't riding one. The third lamest Beatle is a Beatle nonetheless.
i gotta admit i used to diss paul too... but ive been listening to those anthologies.. and his demo of "she came in through the bathroom window" is pretty nuts...its amazing to me he recorded that in the 60s... im starting to realize he had some great songs... john had his share of dumb songs too.. the whole "sir" thing is ******** though

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Paul. He's had a few really solid solo records, but let's be honest, John and George didn't record "Ebony and Ivory," nor are they responsible for Wings.
no.. but john died.. and was doing lots of drugs.. who knows where he was gonna go in the 80s... i have a feeling it would have been pretty ugly also
but then again.. i think paul wrote most of "when im 64"... i think thats one of the worst songs ever |
paul is the true soul of the beatles, john was a good front man and yoko needs clinging onto her only claim to fame, which was marrying john.
In my opinion, George was the greatest Beatle. Sure, he didn't write as much, but when he did, it was pure genius. "Something" is one of the best songs ever written and his solo catalogue blows both John's and Paul's out of the water.
have you heard the acoustic version of "while my guitar gently weeps" its pretty great.. honestly i can nnever tell the 3 apart.. i always have to ask beatle geek friends
Paul "You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Freedom"* McCartney on a fixie? Well, folks, it's been a good run, but I suppose it's back to derailleurs and two brake levers for me.
* in case anyone forgot, McCartney wrote this one to cheer along the US invasion of Afghanistan: Paul McCartney - Freedom This is my right A right given by God To live a free life To live in freedom Talkin' about freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom I will fight For the right To live in freedom Anyone tries to take it away They'll have to answer 'Cause this is my right I'm talkin' about freedom Talkin' 'bout freedom I will fight For the right To live in freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom I will fight For the right To live in freedom Everybody talkin' 'bout freedom We're talkin' 'bout freedom We will fight For the right To live in freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom Talkin' 'bout freedom I will fight For the right To live in freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom I'm talkin' 'bout freedom We will fight For the right To live in freedom |
i'd say this puts a definitive end to all discussions over whether or not the fixie thing has jumped the shark.
paul macartney on a fixie in rolling stone == massive shark jumpage. |
does it say why he is on the bike?
agreed. jumped the shark. where is my special rolling stone/beatles edition timbuk2 bag?
haha in Sir Fixalots defense it's a real old timey bike. not very fancy. it does have some cute fenders tho. wish i could find it.

dudes -- seriously -- I understand the slagging on Paul. He's the sweet, dorky, goodie-two-shoes Beatle... BUT, you know what else? He was/is a freaking MUSICAL GENIUS people! Give the guy some slack. Not only was his songwriting stellar, he was also an amazing musician who could play pretty much every instrument. Man, check that guitar solo on "Taxman". ***** is badass. Sure he plays the Superbowl now. Whatever. Don't hate on a guy who has one of the most impressive bodies of work of ANY ARTIST ever.

you can't front on the beetles plain and simple - recognize.
You guys, I believe it's a coaster brake with a front brake. It's got the clamp on the left chainstay...

It's funny, I LOVE the Beatles, I just hate John, Paul, George and Ringo. 99.9% of any of their solo stuff is pure horse****, except for "Photograph"(-Ringo,) and "Say Say Say"(-McCartney/Jackson[!]) And modmon has perhaps the greatest avatar of all time.
George's solo stuff is crap? Wash your mouth out with soap, my friend.
On the subject of avatars, krispistoferson's is pretty funny. Modmon's kinda scares me. Really.
