Dude. I can pull off some good stuff.
Some boys saw the backwards circles that i am pulling off already. Trackstanding is my forte. I took 8 stiches in the chin doing the track skid comp in Edmonton at the '04 messenger world championships so I skip out on that ****. the basic **** that doesn't require skid. consider them done by me. perhaps t-dogg will get me back into my skidding form. tim |

I can skid. That's about the extent of my tricks. I can't track stand worth a damn, or do much else at all.
I can ride without falling though, and I usually don't crash into anything. I consider that a feat in itself... EDIT: SOMEONE HAD TOO... |

Although I was laughing at a lot of the content. They really try to make biking seem "punk rock," or underground. It's really to serve as a "if you dont know anything about cycling" kind of thing .. with a bit of sarcasm/humor involved. I was sceptical as well when I first heard about this project .. but if not Puma, than Nike .. if not Nike, then some other. Puma is just trying to get their foot in the door with brand recognition in an area that's about to get more and more popular by the year. That's capitalism for you. There are quite a few serious cyclists here ... so atleast it's not all being created by people who could care less about it. |

The best trick I have seen is 'Threadin the Needle' with the opposite food over the handle bars! |
Damn.
I am impressed by 46x17 ability to 'reach around.' Kind of makes me excited to think about it. I tried getting the foot over the bars while threading the needle and couldn't pull it off. perhaps some straight bars are in order. |

i'm not sure there's even a point to posting about this anymore, but since i generally lack good judgement...
of course all companies are out to make a buck, and puma is no different. what is different, however, is that unlike salsa, or spot, or surly, or bianchi, et cetera, puma really was never a cycling company. i'll admit that i don't know anything about team puma and their involvement in track racing (a world i know precious little about as it is), but i think their move seems to be quite obviously more in the vein of profiteering opportunism than any of the aforementioned companies. and that includes bianchi's pistas and weirdly beautiful ss MTBs. i suppose the disappointing thing is that, you know, as corporate shoe/fashion companies go, puma always had more style than the others. unfortunately, that damn stripey part was always leather, and i don't wear the animals. someone rightly said that it's like skateboarding got. *****, nike makes skate shoes now, so what's the difference? for me it's like hearing the smiths or CIV in car commercials. but someone let it happen, and in the end, i still love to ride my bike, and the good people at IRO and Velocity and The Hub (Mpls) are still good people, so I don't think I'll be personally effected at all. |

Do you start with over the bar first or through the frame first? |

Unsurprisingly, so is my vagina. Then again it have learned a new trick because of it. Also, partially the result of this thread - Last night's fixed gear "class" had a turnout of about 12(?) people and was such a blast we rode till midnight. (You would have been proud of us 165!) Moral of the story: Make a fool out of yourself- It leads to fun and happyness! |

Marcel-Todd-
Lets remember that this painting isn't in mpls. It was sent to me from a kid in milwaukee. I don't think kids hate you in mpls. They just think they are faster than Team Puma. Lets also remember that I didn't race in this years Stupor Bowl. I put it on with one of our other fastest messengers. Lets just say the results would of been a little bit different. I am not saying how big my dick is but the comp was watered down from mpls. We have a lot smaller community than in NYC where Team Puma had their tryouts. We have 16 couriers. We have 5 that race the track. 2 raced in this years stupor bowl. One got 4th and rode with Squid. One took 9th and was defending champ. Second, first place went to a kid that had been working in mpls for 2 months previous to the race(alex from trackstar). I do not believe that he is on Team Puma. Third, second place went to a messenger from Milwaukee that had all of the same points as Alex and came in 2 spots behind him. In addition to that he ALSO GOT PULLED OVER BY A COP and issued a $150 dollar ticket. My experiences with the MPD is that they are not all that speedy. Fourth, we killed in the actual race of the STUPOR CHAMP! We had the winners of the drinking and racing prize. Once again these were two messengers from mpls. dilution again. Fifth, The top mpls messenger also finished with the same amount of points as the top 5 racers. All were decided on tie breakers of the finish. all of these people came with in about 6 spots of each other. Sixth, The beef is about claiming that you are fastest on the velodrome. Seventh, I think the painting is funny, but I didn't do it. Just got a chuckle. 46x17- I believe that you should start with the leg through and then put the leg over when it is free and hanging on the side. I just spent about 10min out side trying to get the first part down. You have one upped me on this on. I think that is the challenge. But, it seems like you are well on your way. |
wow, i didn't realize so many people that are track nerds enough to be on this thread or site for that matter were also so cool with corporate america. lame.
(btw just so i dont get attacked for calling yall track nerds, im one of you too.) |
