CYclocross fork on a track(ish) frame

I'm planning on building something like a Soma Rush, or IRO Angus, and I was just wondering about using a cyclocross fork on a frame like that? The reason I would want to di it is for the canti bosses. V-brakes kick ass over side-puls any day. My worry is that these forks would have too much rake for that type of frame. Anyone have an opinion, or bet yet actual knowledge bout that issue? Don? You seem to have both when it comes to frame geometry and fork rake issues.

Also, would a frame like the Rush work with a threaded fork and headset? they say it's 1" threadless, but it seems to me that 1" is one inch, and the tube could take either type of headset. IS that true?

I run a cross fork on a spicer track frame (to run a disc up front), which works great for me.
It will slacken the angles a little, but since you're starting with a steep track frame, it's not so bad.
You might be able to find a 1" threaded cross fork, or swap in a 1" threadless headset.

i got a 1" threaded cross fork that i ran into the back of a car with...tada! low rake. otherwise fine. maybe i should try it on my track bike. even if it fit, the color would be ugly.

The other thing affecting the angles is headset stack height - cyclocross fork will usually have longer blades, to accomodate bigger tires - this slackens your angles unless you go for very small stack height or reface the lower end of your headtube.

I'm thinking a crazy idea of a very low clearance fork (ie, geometrically equivalent to a track fork) with canti mounts in the right place because then you could run a brake without the classic, sidepulls won't fit on this thing even if it had a hole, dilemma.

Maybe that would work, that'd be pretty bkitchhen.

yeah- i'd actually like to get a road disc fork some day- i saw one from infy fab a couple months ago which had a shortened thick cross fork leg on the disc side, and their standard road fork leg on the other side, with just enough clearance for a 25mm tire.

I like my cross fork, but there's an big gap between the top of the tire and the fork crown.
