Here is the only photo of mine about 4 months ago... Its not the most rare bike or anything... just good classice fun.... plus ive added a few more Italian bits since... i think the funnest thing besides riding it is trying to find all the components!

Are Italian bikes overhyped, finish-wise? People complain about Italian paint quality frequently and decal quality as well (surface applied vinyls vs clearcoated transfers) among Italian bikes, and I have to admit, many of the Italian bikes I've seen in person just do not have the same level of finish quality that high-end Japanese and American frames seem to. This is not to denigrate the ride quality of Italian frames, but solely the finish-work. Some of the bikes in this thread look great, but I'm curious if the lug finishing/paint quality in person are as nice. Any Italian advocates care to comment? |

My Colnago seems to be holding up well, paint-wise. On one side part of the C decal has flaked off/faded -- the bike is old, it's a Colnago 72 and I'm it's third owner. Meticulously cared for though judging by the condition it's in after two decades. I don't plan on riding it up on the street much so I can't really say in the long run since I don't plan on beating it up either.

i would post a picture of my lygie but its not a track frame =(

the paint on my Masi chipped as I was putting the top tube protector on. Yep, foam will chip an Italian frame...that said, the ride is incredible.

80's (Italian Bianchi).

Sadly I wrecked this bike in a stupid accident, front wheel and saddle are gone. The frame came out of it unscaved, unlike my helmet and sholder. |

Wait until you see what he's trading it for. Definitely a trade up.... That reminds me, I need to start a 'British Fixation' thread. |
That reminds me to get my Gianni Motta from storage. It has been locked up for 16 months.
