Prefered 1/8 chains ??

Sorry if this has been gone over a million times but I need a new chain and im not sure of the one I should get. Anyone have any rants or raves on IZUMI ESH Pro Track Chain or the Eastern Bikes Z510H BMX Chain by KMC. The KMC is super cheap on nashbar.

KMC 1/8th is pretty decent. There is a stainless steel version available for 30ish.

Not too long ago, someone linked to a BMX site that had fairly in-depth reviews of all of the different KMC chains. It was quite helpful... I didn't have any luck with a quick search, but someone hopefully still has the link.

I bought a KMC Z510HX today.

I like the KMC a lot. A solid chain, runs silent and strong. After my chain wears down, I'm picking that one up next.

I'm currently using SRAM PC-1's on both of my track bikes. I like them enough and they're quiet but they're not as beefy as the KMC.

As for Izumi, I've only used the Econo one and that one is pretty crap. Do not buy.

Izumi's NJS chains are quite nice, the ESH included -- I have one and it has held up to the stresses of my ridiculous riding.

I have been running the Izumi ESH all this year. Really nice. I LOVE the locking mechanism with the mini screw. Totally bomb proof!!!

Is it worth the extra cash? I feel safer with this chain than any other. I guess that is worth something... This is the only NJS part on my bike.

I really liked the stainless steel chain when you could get then for $15 at Big Wheel (whatever happened to them??). I think $30 is still a good price. The master link on those was ****ed up!

I've heard good things about wipperman chains for other applications, I haven't used one, but I would only assume that they would make a solid track chain.

yes I know what assuming does.

the wipperman whitestar is what i'm running. a solid piece of work that one is. the connex looks beefy, but maybe a little too much. they do make good chains though for sure.
