Good mirror for bullhorns with TT lever?

I bought a Third Eye handlebar mirror, but (duh) it won't mount on the left side as I have a TT lever hand brake mounted there.

Any ideas of what might works (short of putting brake on right side which is not unreasonable, but I don't feel like doing now)

Yes, I very much want to have one to monitor traffic behind me. I've ridden over 6k miles in the past year on high speed dense traffic streets and know I will greatly benefit by being able to monitor traffic behind me at times and frequencies where looking over my shoulder is not possible.

Looks like it attaches with a strip of velcro. All the cool kids have mirrors.

I've have the super-geek bell metro with the add-on swivel-down mirror. Works well. Doesn't really help you mount the one you already bought. Duct tape? JB weld?

I have this mirror and it works quite well on my bullhorns (Syntace) with QS-2 brake levers. It detaches in seconds and moving it to another bike is a snap. Where I ride, it is good to know if the log truck coming up behind you is dog-trotting.... a good mirror is essential.

Yep. I bought the Blackburn one and used it this morning for my commute it. It works fine. It does jiggle quite a bit (its cantilevered out and the flex adjustment has play in it). But it doesn't bounce so much I can't check traffic with it. It also attaches nicely. It does make a fatter area to put my hand around when using the brake. No big deal.

Thanks for the tip aeroplane

But that takes work! Not a bad idea really and I thought about it, but its nice to have front brake on same side on all bikes and if I switched one, it would be even more work to switch em all.

Brilliant, why didn't I think of that.

Yeah I do both when merging (mostly over as drivers see me do it and react) But the mirror is there so I know when to best look behind me before merging and also for quick checks on fast approachign traffic when taking the lane.

Mount a mirror on your helmet. Or get some cheapo glasses/sunglasses and throw em on there. Much less likely to get stolen/cracked/whatever, and most importantly, you can look around at a TON more just by pivoting yr head around a little. Much easier at those "more" stressful traffic points like curved roads, waiting in the middle of an intersection to make a left, etc.

Bar-mounted mirrors are prolly good enough for some commuting and touring, but since cost is about the same, I'd go with something head-mounted for anything metro/zippy/etc.

edit: Oh, should've read the OP a bit better.

I'd say go right brake. Pretty easy to adapt to.

I've tried for months to get a glasses mounted (Take-A-Look) miror to work, but can not adjust it so I can see over my shoulder without sitting upright at times I want to be maneuverable. If I could get it to work I would prefer it. See this thread for details:

i have my front, and only brake, on the right side and it takes about two minutes to switch sides
it leaves your left hand for signalling and what not
