I was on my bike (standing still), by an intersection near Lincoln square in Chi.
Friday night and a lot of beer coarsing through.
Some **** threw an egg at me, I must concede, great aim. Hit my bullhorns and sprayed all over me.
Has this ever happened to you?
Around Lincoln Park people yell things like "get a car" but never an egg before.
What else do they yell at you, how do you respond (besideds U-lock to hood or winshield... you liar)

i've had airhorns honked at me as the car drives by and it scares me pretty good. nothing as ever been thrown at me but i would avoid hitting their car since it's propery damage etc.. and that can lead to sticky legal problems. i guess you could trackstand in front of them to irritate them but i've always wanted to carry a disposable camera and take pictures of people/license plates when something dumb happens. then just joke around about how the police are going to get the photos.

ive been egged once. pretty irritating-- it happened around 12 midnight on my commute from the city back home into the county. i wasnt egged from behind, i was egged from an on coming car. i was moving pretty fast as was the offender... the egg hit me hard in the leg, with enough force to draw blood. didnt really hurt, but i couldnt help but think what would have happened if i was hit in the face or eye. i would have bit it at high speed, probably spilling in a ditch and hurting really bad or worse.

It happened to me once when I was walking. I was pissed at first, but on further thought I realized I shouldn't take it personal. It was just a bunch of *******s who get off on upsetting people. It's a strange kick, but it has nothing to do with me, or my mode of transportation except that by being by the side of a road and not in a car I presented an easy target.

Don't waste your energy being angry at them that's what they want. Pity them.

It happened on Friday? It could've been Halloween related. I forgot all about teenagers & mischief when I went out to the grocery store on Monday night. A block away, I was sprayed by some goo - the egg must've exploded in the kids hand as he threw it. Being one of the only white dudes in the neighborhood, I was now faced with a small mob of brat punks with dozens of eggs. Greaaaat, pick on whitey, I thought. Luckily, they had pretty ****ty aim, and the next 3 or 4 eggs completely missed me as I taunted them.

It happened to me on Monday night!

I was riding down Sheffield, southbound, right before Fullerton and then WHAM!

Smack dab in the middle of my chest.

It came from a car going Northbound.

Good aim, glad it wasn't my face.

Same guys?

I got an entire Hefty bagfull of garbage thrown my way once, but got only a glancing blow and managed to stay upright and moving, though a bit slimier than I'd have liked. Thought about stopping to confront (this was down by the Gowanus canal; I was on my way back from a shoot back when I used to do production sound), but quickly realized a) there was a group of about 15 kids involved and b) I had a bag full of rental audio gear including a timecode DAT machine and a nice ENG mixer, so I just counted myself lucky and kept on my way as fast as I could.

there was that kid out in LI who got his cornea scratched up pretty bad because he got hit with an egg in the face. I think the police are investigating it, I hope they scare the kids with jail time or something. Its a lot more dangerous than people think. Its really sh*tty to egg cars too because if its not cleaned up rightaway it can ruin the paint.

I got the "get a car!" yell last night. I was trying to think of something witty to say back, but I just watched as the kid who leaned out the window almost fell out when the driver stopped quick for a red light, and then couldn't quite fit back in the window.
