This summer I was given an old road frame and decided to turn it into a fixed gear. It was covered with stickers so I haven't been able to figure out who made the frame. Ive attached a couple pictures that might help. I was looking in the "Your fixie/ss photos" thread and found that the user MKRG has what looks to be the same bike. Thanks for the help!

I can't see the photos... off topic: How are the graduate engineering programs at NC state? Usually the information that I get from schools is a whole lot of meaningless fluff...

I think I fixed the picture problem...the first one is how it looks now...the second is before new paint and parts.
I just started grad school at NCSU in Mechanical Engineering. Overall, I think they have a pretty good graduate engineering program (in my deptartment at least)...I know what you mean about not being able to find out much beforehand, this semester has definitely been a learning experience for me. Now if I can only find a thesis topic and advisor (in Mechatronics/Control Systems) Ill be all set. |
i was going to say schwinn le tour, but looking more closely, i'm really not sure. besides, a schwinn probably at least have the face plate so you could figure out the maker.

Just tell everybody it is a rare French bike by Pasdenom.

My guess as far as era goes is 1950's-60's, low quality mass produced. Stamped dropouts and a cottered crank are my reasons for that. I'd say check out what sort of threading the BB has and that'll at least give you some kind of country (or maybe what country it isn't from, ie french).

I say it's a peugeot

my fathers schwinn looks somewhat ike that...my best guess

I third that one What's the serial number (look underneath the bottom bracket) if it's there, is it stamped straight on there or on a plate? EDIT: Also, look at the rear dropout, if it says simplex anywhere it's definitely a peugeot. |
