Single and Loving it!!
Got off work tonight, road home and relaxed for awhile. Decided to take a ride and wound up riding for almost 2 1/2 hours on my new single speed MTB. I didn't know that one gear could be so fun, after getting my chain problem fixed. My legs are burning, my lungs are screaming for air, man I feel good. My new saying "get one and be done". Oh, this is my first bike I have had since around 1997. One question, are there hills that I might just never be able to climb, or are they all doable ? Thanks for this S/S forum, you guys gave me the inspiration to try something different, I will never go back.

Pedals will be replaced for clipless ...
Seat will be replaced for a skinnier one ...
Cranks will get longer ...
Air pressure (tires, eh) will become a little more critical ...
Gearing will be on the low 70's ...
Handlebars will be replaced for bullhorns ...
Freewheel will be replaced for fixed gear.
Gradual man/machine improvement
And you will be climbing hills you never dreamed off.

Just keep riding it and eventually you'll be mashing up hills that even took time on a geared bike. I can't believe some of the hills I've mashed up on my fixie only because I was determined to make it to the top.
