Is this the the best or worst (apx) $300 I've ever contemplated spending? http://bikereader.com/forum/index.php?topic=7154.0
No better day than today.
definitely the worst... Or did you mean to post a picture or a description of something you were contemplating blowing $300 on?
Yes
buy it!!
damned punks. pics don't upload right
what happened to all the comments now that the pics work. Wisenheimers.
it is pretty but i dont know about 300 bucks plus shipping from europe.
Sadly it's more fun to mock than to help...It looks very nice. I would drop $300 on it if I didn't already have a fixie. Will it fit you properly?
OK, now that I can see what you are talking about I change my vote. go for it!

Buy It!!
dolface your avatar doesnt much look like you, i think you should change it or at least add large lobes to it
seriously. i'd buy that in a snap.
yes
If it was my size, you'd see that thread gone, closed or with a large SOLD sign on it.
As I'm already contemplating either a Bob Jackson or a Mercian as it is, that would have been right up my alley. If it were only my size. BUY IT. And since you're already across the pond... |

Sweet!!!

Get on it!
Now that's a properly priced frame and the paint seems to be in much better condition than the seller admits to. |
yeah, looks in great shape for a frame that old.
do it up |
best.
for 300? snap it up quick. before i get a flight to england for less than that.
I turned down the complete bike as it is on FGG all because of the bottle bosses and brakeholes. Slacker geometry didn't help either. I think Chris wanted £300 for it then (complete).
The guy selling it now got the frame from Chris via eBay, you might could still do a search to find out how much he paid for it. £150 is a little much in my opinion. |
They're lovely frames. I almost jumped on this myself but I've got no space for yet another fixie project and my girlfriend would kill me. Also as tech says, the angles are a little relaxed but thats probably a good thing if you're going to ride it for work.
But its in great condition for a 70s frame and its 531 which really holds up. Its already pre-scuffed so you won't have to fret about working on it. For reference, new Mercian track frames start at 375 + VAT, see http://www.merciancycles.co.uk/frame_vigorelli.asp But you've got to ask yourself why you need another frame, where you're going to keep it and can you afford to build it up. Jesus, when did I get so sensible?!? Or is this part of your evil plan to acquire all the decent track frames in England and then bring 'em back to the super heated US track market and make a killing? |
