n00b question

Hey Guys,

I was looking at this bike, can anyone tell me if its POS or if its convertable or anything?

I'm just interested as is located in my city.

Well, it does have horizontal dropouts, so that's good (for conversion to fixed/singlespeed). I'd be concerned about it having paint scraped off and stuff, particularly with winter approaching. If you do get it, you might think about getting properly stripped and powdercoated/painted. Unless it's some kind of überspecial/rare frame, I'm not sure it's really worth the money though, given what you'll have to put in.

I would say that it's worth the money. Comes with cranks and he just scraped off the red paint leaving the orig paint albeit in poor condition. It's really up to you on the price but it doesn't seem like a bad deal. It would also be worth a powder coat for an indestructable finish.

True enough. Go with Cynikal...he's less cynical than I.

I'm not sure whether or not that pun was intended.

i think you could find a pretty descent bike with more parts than that. try craigslist too if you want stuff in your area.

ps. try to make your titles better. n00b question is extremely general and not many people check those out

Its convertable, its not a total POS. But is it your size? be prepared to replace all moving parts, so you might want to find out if it is an english thread bottom bracket. And if the BB has to be replaced, one with an Italian taper to fit the "G"ampy crank will be harder to get (i.e you are not going to find one on sale). If you access to a box of spare parts or another 3-4C's and don't care about the paint, then go for it.
