Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

There "might" have been a thread by perhaps a "WK" about the peculiarities of this situation. But I didn't say anything.

Edit: "s e a r c h" - recently.

I apologize for my ignorance ahead of time but, can someone please link me to the explanation of what happened to this fellow?
I have searched and cannot find the thread that explains.

Torrin was hit by someone and subsequently lost his sight. He was very philothranpoticallish... he donated money for rides (rode from SF to LA fixed) and was a good student.

Torrin lost his sight from the accident and has since then done numerous things to better the case of those who are blind.

No problem. While we dicker (not you Fantomas) here amongst our selves about spelling and what is good on a bike and who is more REAL than another, Torrin continues to amaze.

He's not to angry about what happened. He's looking for Justice. But he wants to help set up a way to help others who become blind so that they have an easier transistion. He's learning Braile, and several other things... Pretty amazing guy.

I read that (in another thread asking how he was) he may be setting up a foundation to benefit people in the same/similar situations... If so I'm sure we could easily get some fundraisers going on around here.
