spacer and cog question

has anyone ever tried putting a spacer between the cog and the hub on a formula hub? i want to use a 1mm spacer so my chainline is dead on and i was wondering if there is enough threading on the formula hub. if it helps any i will be using an EAI cog and durace lockring. i'm just trying to figure out a way to get around buying a Sugino 75 bottom bracket till i have the money.

I would only do that if the cog still fully threads onto the hub...that's just me though...1mm off is coo wit me

What did you end up doing? I'm having the same problem with my setup. I still need to find a spacer to fit between my hub/cog.

i wouldn't put the spacer on. 1mm off chainline shouldn't hurt. i wish i could find the thread, but there's something on here about a mechanic who's worked at the olympics saying, what...within 4mm is fine.

i wouldn't go that far, but 1mm shouldn't hurt you, at least not as far as i know.

i ended up buying a sugino 75 bottom bracket spindle for $32 and just bought some used but in good condition shimano cups. i spent $40 all together rather than spending $80 something for the whole sugino 75 bottom bracket.
