About a month ago, I got a really great deal on this over-the-top gold anodized, vintage, aluminum-lugged wonder/beauty:
Since then I've pieced together a few parts to get it to the state that you see it in above.
Before I continue, a few points/disclaimers:
On to the question/poll...
The current rims are mavic OR-10 tubulars that have been anodized to match the frame. The rear rim's sidewall has noticable brake wear. The sew-ups need replacing. I really like the hubs, too; they're Perrins that have also been anodized. Therefore, do I:

Before I continue, a few points/disclaimers:
- This is a road bike, and I intend for it to remain as a road bike. I've never really ridden road bikes, nor have I had the desire until I got into fixed gears.
- I'm posting this thread in the SS/FG forum (as opposed to, say, the vintage forum) because I really identify with and appreciate the members' ęsthetic preferences.
- I already have too many bikes/projects, almost all of which are fixed gears.
- Please don't suggest that I convert this bike into a fixed gear. I might in the future, but I'd like to have at least one road bike lying around for the time being.

First off, nice Cilo/Vitus/Alan frame (I'm assuming it's one of those because those are the only bonded aluminum frames I've seen that last any longer than a year).
Secondly, glad you're not converting it, those frames can't take much abuse. I know, I've had one (a Cilo/Vitus) and it didn't like my fat ass trying to pedal it up hills. So much that the last time I rode it the cranks were hitting the chainstays because the rear triangle was flexing so much up a hill.
As for wheels, that's a pretty light frame, don't throw that away by putting DeepVs on it. I voted for the gold aeroheads...

eww. gold is so not my style.
however...
deepVs do not belong anywhere near that bike
keep it box-section. or at the most Aeroheads.
open pros would work. silver.

I recomend the 98th/bancroft street special, foil in the spokes, for the chrome 27" look, if you figure out how to fab some spinnaz let me know.

I would do tubular gold/yellow Vittoria Atlanta tires, if you can find some. The yellow will turn a golden brown as they get dirty and old. Keep it a road bike, and buy a set of Deep V gold clinchers if you get bored or have to go far enough to need tire insurance.

Does anyone make gold spokes? I think a wheel built out of some nice silver low profile rims (Areoheads?) with gold spokes would match up with the cranks nicely.

Keep the hubs, build them onto something simple but bright & shiny silver. Ditto what someone above said about yellow striped tires fading into gold.
The BioPaces rings are a nice touch.
Though I'm opposed to them, for this you definitely need an old school light-brown leather saddle w/ the rivets exposed. Brown & white cow pattern bar tape could also look good, despite the effort that went into finding gold bars. You need to find brown or gold cable tubing as well. Standard black's not going to work.
