FSA Orbit X fir problems on Rush?

I got an FSA X Orbit 1" headset for $20 from Chucksbikes. seemed like a great deal, but it showed up in a pink plastic baggie rather than retail packaging. No biggie. Here's the rub. I take it down to my LBS to have it installed in the frame, and the mechanic there says the crown race is the wrong size.

He was being kinda vague. He didn't seem sure wether the race was the wrong size for the fork, or the headest, or both. He was going to call FSA and get some help figuring it out, but I'm wondering what's wrong, and wether I ordered the wrong thing or wether Chucksbikes sent me the wrong thing or what.

The headset is advertised as a 1" headest with 27.0 race. The fork is a stock Rush fork.

Any help in understanding what might be worong, and what I should do about it would be much appreciated

the fork could be 26.4, which is ISO standard. 27.0 is JIS (or italian, french).

The plot thickens. I haven't found any info on what size the Rush fork crown is, but FSA disagrees with Chucks, on their ste thay say the X Orbit has a 26.4 crown race. I wonder if perhaps Chucks has some oddball OEM parts.

Shants is correct. The fork on the Soma Rush is a 26.4 race. You can also find out pretty easily - the 27.0 will just drop onto the fork column. If so, then it's too big - you'll need a 26.4 crown race.

You might want to inform ChucksBikes about it and swap or refund.

Well if the headset is 27.0, then Chuck's advertised it correctly, and it was my mistake for not knowing better. Another race is $5. The headset was an excellent deal made slghtly less excellent, but still a good price.

If chucks advertised it wrong, then that's lucky for me because it will fit without the need for a different crown race, but I'll let them know they have it listed wrong.
