Hmmm.. pedal grinds and skateparks on fixies? Dunno if I'm quite sold on that.

Bats For Lashes - What's A Girl To Do? - Blonde Redhead-sounding music video that's an homage to the cycling sequence from Donnie Darko.

since i work at a skateshop that has a couple different ramps, i've messed around on them a little. it's not something that i would take too seriously, but it's fun to do rock to fakies and carve tight transitions. i wanted to learn regular rock and rolls, but the quarter broke the other day, so i guess that's on hold for now.

Yeah, fair call. Just playing around with that sorta thing on fixed gear seems all good and well, and I wouldn't mind seeing someone try a rock n roll now that you mention it :-) That would take some serious skill. It's just that this sorta thing seems better suited to a more appropriate bike. As long as there's fun being had it's all good though.

Jimmy Levan?

Is there a fixed gear scene in Louisville now? I lived there from 96 to 2002 and the first fixed gear bike I saw on the streets of Louisville were that of the singer of Avail, riding down Bardstown Rd, when they were in town for a show.

There is a start to one here. Seeing more people on them, but all the riders have yet to get together, something a handful of us are working on. Hopefully we'll be able to get some type of decent scene, crew, or whatever you want to call it together by the end of the summer.

The following video may contain cool music, a chick on a bike, a rabbit, a squirrel, and a beaver (also on bikes).
