Just a side note, the NYE CM ATL had skaters weaving in and out of the fixies, all of us if front averaged 15-25 mph, no wipeouts! What a rush! |

Pistaboy, you'll do all right. Just pretend you're interested when the older members talk about their youth and teen years...its worked for me so far.
Also, although your name gives it away, don't tell anyone you ride a Pista. I think in your case though, our harsher members might forgive you. |

If you're really bombing a hill on a skateboard, you've usually got on the thickest leather gloves you can find (like three sets of work gloves at the same time). That way you can lean back into a controled skid and prop yourself up with you hands skidding along behind you kinda like you're doing the crab walk (layback slides, etc...)
(i mean come on, look at my avatar) here's a photo, imagine this on a hill http://www.switchmagazine.com/skateb...powerslide.gif |

... ... ... :( I never owned a Bonite deck though. Do I get any cool points for that? |
<------never came close to landing a 360 flip. 'washed up' as in losing tricks faster than gaining them. its got to the point now where if i learn anything new i pay for it by losing at least 3 other tricks. when i lose my backside smith grinds its all over.

you get bonus points if you know who aaron deeter, matt gallardo, snoop or wez lundry were! "is it a go, or is it a geek?" |
Funny ... I could control the speed of the board on a downhill by sticking the heel of my shoe off the back of the board and popping a wheelie.
Kept patching that heel with a dress shoe heel all the time .... Ahhhh ... to be young again ... I remember also stopping the BMX bike wedging my feet somewhere over the rear tire and the rear triangle ... never ever got hurt and I rode brakeless for a good couple years till I got a coaster brake. Coaster brakes and pistaboy rocks by the way ... |
