If you have a car, what do you drive?

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? If you have a car, what do you drive?

I was just looking at the Non-fixed rides thread and i noticed that there are alot of guys on BF that are also on VWvortex.
This got me thinking what everyone else drives. I'm sure plenty of you guys just ride your fixies but i just thought i would ask.
Im currently cruising in a MKIII jetta abd my Tex name is CTVeeDubJetta
What are you rockin?
I know this has little to do with fixed/singlespeed but mods do you think you could let it slide?

I currently have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. I DID have a 1998 VW Passat 1.8t GLS that the owner of VWVortex saw while were were driving one night and flagged me down to tell me it looked really sweet. However, since anything post '98 seems to be crap, I won't be owning a VW again... at 36,000 miles I was looking at a new syncro for 2nd gear and a new clutch, on a car I babied. At 173,000 miles, I change the oil in the Jeep every so often.

I have a 1995 Ford Escort station wagon that I drive as little as possible. It is on its 3rd transmission, ~132,000 miles, leaks assorted fluids, has some dents, a nearly-ripped-off door, still gets 35mpg, and is the car I learned to drive on. I have been driving this car since I was 16....I am 24 now. I know it all too well at this point.

I drive a different car every time. Then again, that's like once every other month or so.

I've got a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport to haul my wife and the kids around town. Ffor commuting purposes, I drive a 1990 Honda CRX DX with approx. 225,000 miles on it and gets between 35-40 mpg. It's currently sitting in my dad's driveway awaiting someone to pick it up (he was supposed to pik it up before Christmas!) to replace a blown headgasket and replace both rear wheel cylinders and drums. As with my fixie, I'd rather do it myself but I don't have a garage and it gets to cold and snowy here in the Poconos to work on an engine outside! My screen name is "progress" or "progre-ss" on the numerous Honda CRX and plain old Honda sites out there.

2000 Jetta VR6 here. It's had it's problems, but (*knock on wood*) it hasn't left me stranded at all! I think people mostly just like to complain.

(oh, and I'm 'somnambulant' on vwvortex also, but I don't really go there much anymore)

mmm.. S4 goodness. You guys see the new RS4? 420hp! egads!

I'm thinking about selling my car this Spring. Not sure if I'm just going to go carless (and join autoshare.ca), or get something old and fun. I've been eyeing BMW 2002's and e30 325's.

I cannot recommend E30s more highly... for about 3 grand, you're not going to find a better/more fun car.

My last car was a '73 MGB/GT. I got tired of replacing broken 8-track players. New cars are bland junk.
