Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? make sure your chain is in good tension. figure which is the leading foot and which is the rear, backwards pedaling foot. bars at 45 degrees, either to right or left depending on your leading and rear foot stance. pedals at about ten past 8 or 9 on the clock? now rock it back and forth like your putting the baby to sleep!

Pick a spot on the ground and concentrate on it like you would do for the superman stretch for your quads. You know the one I'm talking about?

IROkid is not me, for sure. I've already asked all the dumb**** questions. Why do it again??

Well, I can't do it that well yet, but my advice is to just get out there and try it.

Here are a few pointers (These are things that helped me to learn, ie they might not work for you)
I like to have my front pedal a tiny bit higher than the back. Try and "Rock" your bike forward and back.
I like to keep my hands on the hood part of my bars.
DON'T CLIP IN!!! Your gonna take a foot off a lot, so you might as well be ready.
I like to brace my front leg on my top tube.
