Chicago---> xXx Team

Hey.

It was great to see all of you folks out at the meeting yesterday.

I am really excited that you guys want to do this!

We just have to keep pushing each other to go on rides together and to race.

I am going on a road ride on Thursday morning at 8AM if anyone is interested.

Word.

Haha. At 8AM I'll be busy cutting someone up. Make it 3AM and I can go.

I know this is going to sound really stupid, but I have been wanting to start racing up in Northbrook this spring, even though I know nothing about the velodrome scene, rules, etc. Anyway, I have been wanting to try to hook up with the XXX riding people because they probably know all this buisness, but when I go to their website, it says there are meetings, but as for specifcs I am missing something. They have the group rides Saturday morning, if I were to show up at one of them, would they be receptive to awnsering some questions and or let me ride with them? should just go and say hello and see what happens.

I think they let non xXx members ride on the Saturday morning rides.
They seem all about getting people out and on their bikes, so I doubt anyone would have a problem answering questions.

The first meeting of the year was last night at Goose Island Brewery. If you go to the calendar on their site and click on the event/meeting it gives you info.

the website seems like it is a pretty friendly bunch of people, I have downloaded the membership package and will give that a look over and then I guess I need to get my lazy ass out of bed Saturday morning.

I am stoked that O.OO/Girl stepped up to join the team!

He will have a lot of fun!

Also [165] joined the team. I wonder what [170] thinks about that!

Salome is going to be a little busted as she is only a girl and obviously can't hang with us big boys! Ha.

But, for the most part seeing you all there was fantastic! I can't wait to take the team van to Indianapolis for a Friday trip this year!

Word.

Joining up late most probably - depending on certain bigger decisions to make.

there is always room for more!!! Super-rookie won't mind washing another rider's team kit. Maybe he could write about what the best detergent for chamois hand-washing is...

I crashed. Apparently taking your hands off the bars and then getting blown by a gust of wind when riding with high profile rims isn't smart.

Sean's knee to Sean: OW! WHY THE **** DID YOU DO THAT?

I'll be at this Saturday's training ride. I might ride my 'cross bike so I guess I'm technically Off Topic.

edit: Sean: Good job on not getting hurt on your fall. You're good for another 2,000miles of no-fall riding!

My knee is healing nicely.

I'm riding my road bike on training rides, so don't worry about being off topic.

See you on Saturday!

That's good. Yeah I've been riding my cross bike with 35psi so I don't aggravate my arm. xXx riding injured, sweet.

Are there any larger parks with a good loop through them? Kind of like Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

I am looking at a map of Humboldt Park and Luis Munoz Marin Dr. that loops through the park looks like it could be a good one, but I'm not sure.
