when i had the stock 3/32 drivetrain on a pista, i threw the chain a lot, but it had more to do with the rear wheel slipping and my jumping on and off of curbs. i put a tug on and never had the problem after that. then i put in a 1/8 drive train, no tugs and wheels built on phils. no problems there either. then i realized i'd changed all of the components, shouted, "YAHTZEE!!!" had a new frame built.
have you tried shouting, "YAHTZEE!!!?" the ony other thing i do when all else fails, is to sing that journey tune, "don't stop believing," to myself. seems to work for everything from bike problems, to catastrophic hard drive crashes to foot pain.
