from the pic (and the era) I'd guess that's 87 teeth at 1 inch pitch.

wow, i've seen pics of that bike, and if i remember right, it reached speed of 109 mph. that or a similar bike. anyhow, i wonder how he got started...that'd be a beast to get up to speed on.

Ah... good point... 174 teeth seems more reasonable.
