I seem to remember just giving someone **** about making this a "wishful thinking" thread, but...

Sigh....

Henry rules. I think he'll be ok. I do wanna buy the guy a cheeseburger or six, though.

That goes double for you too, Kell.

edit: For disclosure, I'm the pale bastard obstructing Henry's rear wheel.

I've also monopolized this thread quite enough for today.

Have:
Nitto -17 quill stem - 26.0 clamp 120mm black
ITM Eclypse -17 quill stem 26.0 clamp 130mm chrome (still on my Bridgestone but can go any minute. Just got a Salsa )
Easton +/- 6 degree 130mm threadless stem with shim for 1 inch steerer (one small scuff on the logo, but otherwise very clean)
Control Tech 27.2 X loooong seatpost - silver - missing logo sticker (not enough setback for me)
Jandd Hurricane messenger bag (blue and grey) - years of life left, just too small for my needs now
1 inch Dia Compe threadless headset - crappy but works (got a deal on a Chris King, so I don't need this)

Want:
Shimano 737 SPD pedals (beat condition cool as long as they spin)
Salsa shaft seatpost 27.2
16t White Industries ENO freewheel (I know - yeah right )
BARS - 46cm Nitto Noodle or Randonneur, Midge, Ritchey Biomax, or Salsa Bell Lap
Cane Creek SCR-5 levers

Ok the new frame is close by in some post office or something, it's white my old one is red, I need to do some color trades:

Have: A black brooks conquest
Want: A honey or brown brooks, b-17 special, team pro or conquest

Have: Black high flange Phil front hub, laced with silver DT Swiss spokes to a black aerohead, machined. The black / silver alternation looks sick, but the white frame and black hub just ain't right.
Want: Some high quality silver hub. I love the phil but I'd do otherwise, formula or better. If it's built than it'd be nice if it's silver classic and polished.

Also wanting for the build: a nice quill stem, a seatpost, 165 length cranks, red champs. Also willing to swap nitto b123s, think mine are 39, wouldn't mind something narrower.

the price and country of manufacture are the only real difference. i'll bet that in 10 years we'll be hearing stories about people who have ridden their formula hubs through a decade of winters.

the "ride" consists of like 10 bucks worth of new bearings.

i thought you just said that they "didn't compare" to phils?

if not the bearing quality, what are you referring to when you say "the ride"?

i dont know what it is.. i dont build hubs.. they just feel nice and solid and right. formulas just feel like things that hold spokes to the axl..i know thats not a great description, but thats all i got and in my opinion trading phils for formulas is nuts.

not straight up, they clearly aren't the same quality/value. I love the phils but sometimes they just make me stress too much, this is a bike locked on the nyc streets for hours every day. Formulas are probably a smarter choice, but you know how it is when you walk into the shop with a fresh paycheck in your pocket...

in anycase I probably wasn't too clear in the original post, I'd much rather do a black for silver phil swap, but if someone wants to get all complex and multi item in a trade I'd take a lesser and/or different hub in the mix...

wait wait wait. you would be willing to trade your black phil hub laced to an arrowhead rim for my silver formula hub laced to a black deep v?

I just built up a bike and realized that is a little too flashy for my ride to campus. So much so that I haven't even riden it to class because I don't want to lock it up hahahaha. Now I'm trying to trade to get components to built it back up a little more inconspicuous. Everything has about 60 miles on it (Very easy miles, only out in perfect weather, I'm a wuss hahaha).

I have:

FSA Vigorelli Crankset 170mm arms, 49 tooth
FSA platinum pro track bottom bracket 68x108mm ISIS
DEDA Elementi Aluminum Pista bars
I have a FELT stem that matches the pista bars diameter, as well as some other stems and odd parts like an unused wireless cyclocomputer, a red selle italia turbomatic 4 saddle with no wear on it

I'm looking for:
sugino, miche, or any track crankset with preferebly 170mm length arms.
chrome pista bars, nitto would be nice.

Have:

Pair of Vittoria Ultra Speed tires. Never used. Thin, fast, slick, light, and can be inflated to 160. I just think I'd destroy them incredibly fast riding them around in the city.
16t Tomity cog. Seriously beautiful kinda makes phil cogs look sloppy, I've just realized I'm probably not gonna use it. Finding 151 bcd chainrings is such a *****. *siiigh*
90 mm nitto drop (alu) + nitto b125s (I think they're 38? forget. high 30s.) drops wrapped with viva cloth tape (nicer than velox), and the shoulders are covered with clear champ grips.
Lightly used Toshi single straps, white. A little dirty, a little frayed, but still tough.
SF ONLY: Dura Ace 7600 (32H non NJS) hubs laced with black spokes to black Mavic Open 4 CD rims. I will only trade these for another wheelset (preferably campy)

Want: Unique, older parts (pedals, hubs, rims, seatpost, headsets, whatever). I'm trying to restore the stan miles to what it may have once been.
