Just got my first road bike. Ever. KHS frame.. I think a mtb frame but the geometry seems more road.. who knows. Random parts on it to make it a single speed fun as hell bike! The chainring is 40t at the moment.. ordered a 44t to be in tuesday. I might build up a fixed one day, but I honestly dont care about it right now, besides I had a blast earlier tonight just riding some local roads.
I stripped the paint off with some toxic crap.. then just put some cheap ass clear coat on it (half ass job, but you cant tell really). I road bmx for about 4 years or more maybe.. spent lots of time and money on our trails and my bikes.. then dropped it like a bad habit.. too much "oh im 15 ft in the air and im squirrelly.. SMASH!!" .. bleh. Then I bought a gt aggressor, good bike, but still didnt do it for me. This bike though, man.. it's actually bizarre how fun it is, even to just put around some parking lots :D Anyways, Ill get carried away if I dont stop now. Im excited as hell to be on a bike again, and ss/fix is something that Im glad im into now :) .. later oh.. crappy pics attached (but I like them) taken with my spectacular polaroid $100 digital camera.. |
excited is rad...i think bikes are exciting.

thanks.
I'll get some better pics tomorrow most likely |
looking forward to it.

very nice ride...
I like the unpainted/clear coated look.... I would convert that rear axle to non-quick-release tho. |
heres a shot of a little 2ball for you, enjoy.

However, a rear brake on that SS would make me feel a little better. Or, make it a fix. :) Looks nice though. |

Riding last night, I tried as hard as I could to endo.. couldnt do it. Even with the vbrake. So, either there isnt enough stopping power, or the sweep headtube/forks is keeping it settled. I'm gonna switch the front brake around today with another I have lying around, see if that changes much.
So far as running a rear brake.. I'm not going to at the moment. The main reason is that I dont really need it (please let's not get into this debate.. another thread is there for it lol) after confirming how it stops last night. The other is I REALLY like the clean look, infact Ill most likely shave the guides off soon. Im not sure if I like straight bars for long rides yet. Darting in and out of tight spots I love it.. but I caught myself wanting to go lower on some long straights. aannnyways.. sun is hiding.. might not take good pics, but new pics coming today. |

I dont mean to hijack your thread... but I have an even *****IER camera than you, and a bike with a similar finish. Thought Id share:
