www.frictionlessrecords.com/green

howzabout we post our bands' websites in here and we also agree to not just hope that other folks will listen to our stuff, but to actually listen to each other's music and provide a nice little bit of community-oriented support?

jacobs 01-21-06 10:45 AM

junioroverlord 01-21-06 12:06 PM

Used to be. Music is for geeks.

dustinlikewhat 01-21-06 12:21 PM

I'm in a bunch....

Bog Wraith - heavy stoner rock, along the lines of the melvins and late era ozzy black sabbath

yet to be named - not sure of the style yet, but the members are ex-exosus, tradition dies here. I'm really stoked about this band, hoping for like a heavy his hero is gone, or something like karp, first practice is next saturday..

Bring Your Skateboard To The Show - accoustic three peice, all songs are about skate boards

The Bearded Men Of Space Station 11 - two peice noise/drone project

Divider/Combiner - a side project that I'm trying to start with a drummer I work with, noisey loud...

I'm also about to buy an accoustic guitar and start doing some solo stuff.

past bands:
Punk System Destroy: http://www.myspace.com/PunkSystemDestroy - Metallic D-Beat
I ****ed Your Daughter - Power Violence/noise very juvenile and obnoxious

if you want to tape trade bands let me know!

I play or have played in/with a bunch of bands including (most recently):

North of America
The Holy Shroud
Buck 65

We should have a fest. FixedFest. There'd be footdown in lieu of a pit.

I was in a band called Brooke for a while. Brooke was kind of an interesting unit in that it was very dissonant, sort of like early 90's hardcore like indian summer or something. We were very loud, fast, obnoxious, and liked to make lots of noise during the songs. Our drummer ruled.

I also have a solo project called The Reverend. It is an electronic project. It is pretty hip.

evanyc 01-21-06 01:20 PM

as you can see from my signature i'm in a band called REDS (not THE REDS or MEAN REDS, just REDS).

links:
REDS homepage: not often updated
REDS on myspace: be our friend!

I also do a record label called Waking Records and release records by some amazing bands... not to brag but yeah... i love my friends' bands! Waking Records

I don't have time to check out mp3s right now, but I definitely will later. Now I'm going to ABC to see R.A.M.B.O.

FixedFest would rule, and as I suggested in an earlier thread, a footdown circle pit would be amazing.

i'm guessing you had nothing to do with the stuff he did with the del mccoury band? that's impressive,though...you do some good work, then.

anyway, here's what i've been invovled in...

http://www.myspace.com/ianmorton That's for the Stuttering Hand, which is sort of an outlet for my love of roots music, indie ****, and psych-folk. still a lot of work i want to do with it, but there's the raw material i'll be working with.

http://www.myspace.com/theartofcolonscopy a grind band i used to be in. they're a lot better now, but still have yet to record their current incarnation. it went from the older thrashy stuff you'll hear on the page, to the burlier sound we had then, to this sound like employer/employee with a female vocalist who could growl with the best of the guys and screech like a banshee...i hope they record

i've had a number of failed projects, from a speed metal duo to a tom waits pop cover band, to a pop punk band to a jug band, a bluegrass band, a country-rock band, and an old-school country band...*sigh*...a lot of them would have been fun.

right now, le white rabbit and i are writing some songs that are fun...not a band yet, but we'll see...i like what we've come up with so far.

beat_pedalr 01-21-06 03:18 PM

i'm in a band called Tom Tom Petty.
