STUPOR BOWL IX: Who's going?

Daerest Midwest:

Who's going to be at Stupor Bowl IX in Mpls? I'm THINKING about going -- being from MN and all -- but I'd rather not fly solo. Plus, I haven't actually lived in Mpls proper since I was 8.

Anyone from Chi headed there? Super Rookie?

I am, but my car might be full already. Me and Adam Clark are going for sure, and Adam was going to ask Mike today if he wanted a ride. My roommate is still kicking it around, but if a spot in my car opens up I will post it

I've got a car, but no bike rack, unfortunately, which means I can really only fit like one other person w/bikes.

I'm entertaining expat Minneapolians that weekend. But you're welcome to my bike rack, Gib. I think it'd fit about 3 bikes.

It fits everything, it's great. It's this kind:

Works fine on my Volvo, but my father used to have it on the back of his minivan (it just flattens up). You'll probably want to fashion some kind of bungee-and-lock setup for that long of a ride, but I have utter faith in it.

Hey What's up Chicago?

I'm moving back to Wisco next week (from DC) and a buddy of mine and I are driving up from Madison to hit up the festivities in MPLS. I'm gonna be rocking (hopefully) my old Volvo wagon so considering we're all on the BF and fellow-midwesters and all, I thought I'd offer up help toting bikes or whatever and maybe a caravanesque trip up to the Cities. We're leaving sometime on Friday afternoon. MPL = 5 hours from Madison.

some of the other DC Pirates are considering it, anyone want to convince us to make the 17 hour (or however long it is) drive?

I'm pretty sure I'm going

Now lets see if my boss gives me the first 3 days of Feb off so I can putz around town with no agenda for a few days beforehand...

Depending on if he does, I might be able to offer floor space for one or two people...

I'm in the process getting out of work that weekend...
It's not easy finding someone to work your second shift slot during the superbowl.

This will be my first race, and I figure it's a good race to kick things off. The only thing I have to worry about is finding the first checkpoint.

Three buddies and I will be heading up from the Quad Cities (Moline/Davenport) area SLASH the Iowa City area.

Holy **** Spud! Why didn't anybody mention it? Heck, IF I can find sparks, I'll buy a case just for you for suggesting coming thru the great state of Wisconsin. You definitely should trek it out that way.

see you at polo tomorrow?

While I have a nice beard, the mustache doesn't really do anything for my face... So I'm probably not doing the mustache ride... Except maybe to laugh at people like you... Mine was trimmed just a month or two ago, maybe I'll groom it into a mustache to blow you all away by sat...

the stupor bowl is so wack. i don't know why anyone would come from the following cities for an event.

quad cities(moline, davernport, bettendorf, east moline...something like that)
DC
madison
milwaukee
chicago
salt lake city
seattle
san fran
new york
philly
winnipeg

people from these cities must be stoooooopid. there is no reason to go to an alleycat that has existed for over 9 years. it is such a waste of time. if it wasn't for my brothers dance recital i wouldn't be renting a car to go up there.
