crap, i need help(especially philly people)

i just stripped my hub, i was waiting for some friends to get home and was riding around a parking lot seeing how fast i could go and skid, alright it wasn't the best idea but the problem is i'm poor and i'm supposed to ride to the shore on saturday, does anyone have a rear wheel they can sell me for cheap? i just bought plane tickets to go to ireland and i only have like 70 dollars to last me until next friday, that's more than enough to get by but not to buy a wheel before the weekend, i was running a 27inch and i considered buying the complete 27inch from amazon (niagra cycle works) but i need it by friday so i can have it ready for saturday, any ideas of other options? i need to stress cheap like i said 70 dollars until next friday need a wheel by this friday..crap

I dont have one to spare... but if it helps at all, ill build you one for free if you can get a hub/spokes/rim for 70 bucks... which might be doable.

soyboy 01-30-06 08:55 PM

well there's actually nothign wrong with my current rim so i'd be about spoke and a hub, let me see what i can find

Rikardi151 01-30-06 08:57 PM

If you really want it quick, dirty and cheap, you can get a suzue jr for like 20 bucks. spokes, about 60 cents a piece. Also.. do you go to arcadia?

soyboy 01-30-06 09:04 PM

i do not go to arcadia, i'll head into the city and look into cheap hubs tomorrow, thanks for the offer i think i'll be taking you up on it

Isn't is a huge pain in the a55 to build a wheel with a used rim?

It depends on the condition of the rim; if it's still fairly true, you're fine.

I can lend you a truing stand and/or help out, if you need it. I'm also in West Philly.

^ cool... Im gonna meet up with soyboy tonight at the bike church, and lace up the wheel tomorrow. Ill be in contact if something goes wrong, as Ive only built 4 wheels thus far.

I'll offer up my stock 2004 fuji track wheel for free though i don't know if its needed now.... caveat: it needs truing (i think i popped a spoke before replacing it).
