how many cubic inches does yours hold cause my bag is 28"W x 17"H x 8"D and it holds 3000cubic inches... i mean mine is pretty big.

xthugmurderx 02-03-06 09:24 PM

i don't have a clue. and i'm bag at math. i had my bag made custom big. 28" wide!!!? you must have absolutely NO strap, or the ends must touch. that's ridiculous. are those kremlin dimensions? mine is definitely bigger than a kremlin. i used to have one of those before i got this. i dunno, as said, better too much bag than not enough.

yeah those are kremlin demensions, it's a big ****ing bag

xthugmurderx 02-03-06 09:28 PM

i can't stand 'em. they're shaped goofy. not deep enough to hold a box, and the round off at the bottom (some of us have more than textbooks to carry around) *not a diss on anyone, just sayin'.

mrbertfixy 02-03-06 09:29 PM

78.6 Liters? that is friggin huge. custom size?
50% bigger than a kremlin.

math says (L*W*H) 4800 cubic inches. god damn.

xthugmurderx 02-03-06 09:31 PM

hahaha...when you break it down it's ****ing crazy huge. hahah. it's awesome

abe1x 02-04-06 12:17 AM

that math doesn't quite work though cause most bags are trapazoids not rectangles. It also might account for some of the confusion, some companies measure the width across the top, and some across the bottom. To accurately figure out the volume you'd need both measurements and also would need to account for any angles on the depth side and curves and who knows what else.

But yeah, that's one huge ass bag.

sers 02-04-06 12:34 AM

i have a chrome citizen, the most ive ever fit in it is:

4 pairs of pants
5 long sleeved shirts
2 short sleeved shirts
1 pair of pajamas
7 pairs of underwear
6 pairs of socks
1 towel.
bulldog mini.

basically enough laundry to get me through a week. this is as full as i could get it and still close the top flap.

bobdanger 02-04-06 12:44 AM

dont know about you
but my bag holds two.

i fit a person in my bag with their head poking out of the hole in where the top flap didn't completley close. beat that....and she was holding 6 pbr tall boys..well not really, but she could have been.

Cynic 02-04-06 03:25 AM

Man, the other night at polo, I could only hold two half racks, my rain gear, helmet, mini u-lock, tools and pump in my Metropolis. =( Oh and probably other stuff. Made for a long / short polo night. =( I'm was so bummed.

Placid Casual 02-04-06 05:19 AM

Any of you people ever weigh your bags? Erm, your messenger bags, I mean? Bailey is the only company that lists the weight. Those Metropoli and Kremlinen look heavy with those metal buckles, is all I'm sayin'.

Oh, and I'm also sayin' that it would be cool if the nice people at Reload would list the capacities of their bags, for comparison purposes.

JackCasey 02-04-06 07:48 AM

jason does not have a bag.....he has a cape

mcatano 02-05-06 07:37 PM

I just got some info from Travis/Frieght Baggage about his sizes... thought some of y'all might be interested.

Mini: 19"x12"x8"
Small: 22"x13"x9"
Medium: 25"x13"x10"
Large: 27"x13"x12"

I have a medium and it's ridiculously big. It dwarfed evanyc's reload civilian, and looks bigger than the reload deluxe. I haven't seen a large, but it must be nuts.

I'm finding this bag to be way too big for daily usage, but it's making trips to the grocery store a breeze. Hugeness aside, I cannot think of enough positive things to say about the design of this bag. I'd like to get a small for everyday use.

A new way to understand how large a bag is

ImOnCrank 02-05-06 07:54 PM

+ another for the reload courier/deluxe. It's well past what i've needed for work and it's kinda nice to be able to carry your body weight in groceries in it as well. And it's actually not that bad of a deal either. If you can get it with a chrome style strap system though I'd recommend that. I like their adjustment better than the ReLoad adjustment system.

Moximitre 02-05-06 08:38 PM

hmm, today I fit a 8 pack of paper towels in a medium sized timbuk2, however, I likely looked like an idiot, as they were hardly in it, and the bag was held closed with a bungee cord... but they technically fit

slopvehicle 02-05-06 09:46 PM

I've got a Chrome citizen and a medium Timbuk2. The Chrome is the new bag-- got it in a moment of impulse-buyin' sickness when they were cheap at Performance. Though I really like the strap and adjustment options, the damn thing doesn't sit right on my back. Always feels like it's inching off my shoulder...so I'm back to the Timmy.

sbeatonNJ 02-06-06 03:52 PM

I am so glad I went with a big bag (Jandd Iniki) as I now have to lug teacher's editions back and forth everyday. Definitely better to have a bag too big then a bag too small.

eddiebrannan 02-06-06 03:54 PM

um, silly question, but i've had my timbuk2 for 5 years and i don't remember what size it is. is there a label anywhere? i can't find one.
