I dunno .... my monstrosity is heavy as sin. I can lift it though ...

I guess 18ish pounds is pretty common. 15ish is tough to accomplish but doable.
My question is how do yous guys weigh your bikes? I'm curious about how much mine weighs, but standing on the bathroom scale and subtracting my weight from the overall weight isn't doing it for me. My bathroom scale is not accurate enough. I get 15ish, and I know it should be more like 18ish |
Most LBS' have stands with built in digital scales, ask them to toss it on next time you stop by to pick up some parts. I am not sure how you would weigh one at home if your scale isn't giving you a good reading.

its most useful if it can calculate to a hundredth or thousandth of a gram :)
yum. |
i got a hanging fish hook-type scale that goes up to 20 lbs. I'm sure it'll work on bikes but I haven't tried. does a good job with fish though.

I used the hanging scale at my shop.
My Fillmore weighs in at a nice 17.3 pounds with the crappy wheels and about 17.8 with the Ellipse. That's pedals and all too. |
My GT was right about 16lbs in it's heyday. It had the following lightening parts: Ultra small (and ultimately, ultra-dangerous) corima bladed CF seatpost. Spinergy CF rear. Really light hutch race tires. Latex tubes.
It was really darn light. It's probably closer to about 17-18lbs now. |
my bike's not fat, shes big boned.
