fixed questions.
Ok so I am going fixed with my peugeuot 12 speed. It is older probley 80's model.
So I want a hub that is not going to break I guess. I will probley ride down stairs some times and off of curbs. I looked around and everyone seems to boast there their hubs are the strongest. I guess my question is do I need to but a real expensive hub? I would like a flip flop. I would like it to be 36 hole so it would lace into the rim I have already. But really I just want it to be as cheap as possible with out it sucking. I have been looking around and googled it quit a bit. I don't know I seem to be getting more confused. I was reading that track hubs might be to weak for normal rideing around town. and may not be suited for it. So I guess some sugestions on what I should get would be great. I guess i would like to pay 100 bucks or less. but I can save longer and get something more if that is what will be suited for basic daily thrashing. Thanks . |
Formula, Surly, Or Kogswell hubs all meet the criteria of relatively inexpensive available in 36h flip/flop, and all durable quality products. get whichever one you prefer. They are all good.

if your riding down stairs you may want to invest in a little stronger rim, like a velocity deep v, because you tear **** up popping off curbs and going down stairs real quick.
|
Forumla hubs laced to Deep V's would be a good strong combo, but are just a little about your price point

ok thanks guys. I am getting the hubs next week and will get the rims as I destroy my older ones. right now there are perfectly strait. lol not for long though. See what happens when down hiller gets a street bike. and as for spokes I normaly change out the spokes when I get new rims or hubs. This is just the first time I am getting it all by my reasearch. normaly I just cruze down to the local shop and ask what I should get. I think that puts me out for being screwed to much though. lol

Well not inless you guys thought it was a real bad idea. which it seems to be for right now intell I get the good hub and wheel set. Thanks for all the help. |
