Would you accept barters/trades for a hat?

Don't bother, he still owes me back for that ****ob I gave him last month. That being said, I want one.

ryan_c 02-05-06 10:06 PM

Nice! I'd definitely consider ordering a wool one. I would be skeptical of how well that suit liner wicks though.

redcurrycelt 02-05-06 10:12 PM

Damn, those are fly. Really nice work!

BTW, is that pink boombox NJS?

11201ny 02-05-06 10:58 PM

can you make one with a burberry pattern, or maybe a prada logo?

MLPROJECT 02-06-06 01:43 AM

winar

also:

i might be willing to buy one too, depending on price/headband not being wool/etc

but yeah, lining looks real nice

MLPROJECT 02-06-06 02:13 AM

didn't you say these will be like $300/each? only making them in harris tweed, reconstructed burberry suits and polo hand cableknit sweaters?

Doctor Who 02-06-06 06:45 AM

Tweed or standard plaid would be hot.

Give me a holler when you're ready to accept an order.

the hat isn't actually wool at all. the suit coat fabric has a similar consistency, but i'm relatively certain that this isn't wool, which is why i went ahead and did the headband from the material. it doesn't itch at all, and i usually have huge problems with wool. this hat, in general, was just a test to see what i could pull off. lining the ****er was a pain in the ass, etc.

mattface 02-06-06 08:09 AM

I'm loving the idea. I've got this great Pea green Harris Tweed that I love that's never gonna fit me again. I might just take inspiration from your project, and turn it into hats. The best one gets the label.

Tmax1 02-06-06 08:51 AM

Put me on the waiting list shants for one of your hats.

Nice hat

More like a cross between Prince and Vincent Gallo.

shants 02-07-06 08:36 AM

this picture is an awful cropped camera phone job, but it should suffice:

i made this goofy hat last night from a fairly thin cotton (yeah, it'll breathe) and an old doom (crust as ****!) backpatch that i had lying around. it doesn't sit as deep on the head and has a smaller bill than the other that i posted yesterday. it's not lined and is more like the type that i'll be generally selling in the upcoming months, because it's more suited for warm/hot weather. yeah.

invicta 02-07-06 10:31 AM

did you make the pattern from scratch or did you do some deconstruction to figure it out?

benny 02-07-06 10:36 AM

DOOM RULES! Some of that old crustpunk was soo good. Assuck being my favorite!

shants 02-07-06 10:55 AM

i guessed and did some really minor deconstruction to confirm my pattern.

killsurfcity 02-07-06 11:21 AM

if i can find a pair of phillies zooba stripe pants i may be forced to order one of these to be made out of it.

Tmax1 02-07-06 11:32 AM

cool chit. so we can send you the cloth and head circumference and you'll make hats. cool. spread the word!! could be the start of a new career.

MLPROJECT 02-07-06 11:35 AM

zubaz is ****ing ill ****

shants 02-07-06 11:44 AM

i'll make a ****ing zubaz pants hat if one of you ****s will buy it.

Re-Cycle 02-07-06 11:49 AM

That dosn't look like any cycling hat I've ever seen

transplant 02-07-06 11:53 AM

hey shants.. if you don't feel like building an entire website to sell your stuff, one of my roomies sells her goods on etsy and has been quite happy with it.

shants 02-07-06 11:57 AM
