yo, that race was amazing. thanks to everyone that had a hand in organizing, and i met a bunch of cool kids. nwe york is crazy. and i did pretty well with a bag and lock. minute and 40 seconds behind alfred. second out of town and 8th overall. had a kickass time. i love races. come out to philly this coming weekend kids.

well you actually did have to have a lock for this race because the start instructions we're pretty ****ing specific about that. Bags were unessery but at many races you do end up having to cary stuff so its never a bad idea to have your bag...

whos tryna b funny ? im not gettin graded on my typin in here so who da *** cares ? as for da lock comment, if u would of gone u would of understood. i have a chain NO U LOCK. lets see 3rd day ridin a track bike, i was pretty nervous sooo i didnt notice the key was still in it. i was soo nervous i couldnt get my feet inside da cages sooo i rode the 1st 5 blox at 5mph. but w/e keep da ish talking coming. i love it ;)

WOW what a ride!!! It is the day after my first Monster Track and Alleycat and I am not hurting as much as i expected. Being that I never really rode NYC with a no brake fixied gear I was nervous about the whole thing. Overall I think i did well navigating through the city traffic. I probably made some navigating mistakes by following the manifests checkpoints one after another. watching that short clip of Felipe made me realize that i should of hit the west side after the first checkpoint. it also showed me how insane of a rider that he is. Riding down 5th ave Squid past me by and i tried to follow him but i couldn't. Lasted about 3 blocks and couldn't hang with some of the moves he made around some cars. It was amazing!!!

As i got to the last checkpoint I wasn't to sure what to do. There were tons of bikes everywhere so it took me some time to actually find a place to lock my bike. As I was looking I asked some random guy about where to get my stamp. It turned out that the guy asked me for an interview for a documentary. In my exhausted state i said yes. He asked some questions about the race... I had no idea what i said, probably made a complete fool of myself. It was funny because at the same time as the guy was interviewing me, Alfred(I assumed at the time the winner) came out of the bar with a photographer to take some pictures him. He gave me a look to see who i was. I felf like a complete idiot because here I am close to last being interviewed while the winner was right next to me. I think i told the guy maybe you should be talking to him and not me.

welcome to the stripped seat clamp team. same thing happened to me it's not very comfortable is it. mine turned into a clunky seesaw. i just thought of that seatless world record holder for inspiration.

that looks so fun to bad I wasnt able to get my bike built up in time. Hopefully next year after a year of biking Ill be ready.

Everybody loved that run down 5th, never stopping, just crazy maneuvering. I won't ride like that during the week. Lost my card, my manifest, my hat even flew off my head at one point!
Went back and found the manifest though...ain't goan out like no fool. ;)

Festivification was taken to another level. I'm feelin the goldsprints.
Also looking forward to seeing the coverage of the race if it ever gets out there.

yea. I made the mistake of turning on Nassau downtown trying to get back uptown. Crazy construction. I know I lost a good 5min for making that stupid move..

stache - were you the one fixin your bike that i checked on to see if you needed anything, and then ya told you you'd catch up, and sure enough 2 minutes later there ya were? whoever that was, that was some impressive patch work. i was following him (you) and almost got nailed by a flatbed and had to turn. that's when i got lost.

so the goldsprints eventually got fixed? stuck around for about an hour waiting but michele was in the neighborhood and her and food called and then i didnt make it back.

wow. so i officially hate brooklyn hospital. i just discovered that the excruciating pain i've been experiencing for the past 24 hours was because the doctor NEVER ACTUALLY RESET MY DISLOCATED SHOULDER. it just popped itself back in moments ago and the pain and paralysis immediately began to go away. ithe huge weird valley in my shoulder is gone now too. is misreading physical and x-ray evidence and sending a patient away with a still dislocated shoulder grounds for a malpractice suit?

once again, mad props to salome, who tended to me while the ambulance came, msngr, for the tail he has promised me, king kog for holding onto my stuff until i can pick it up, and all the other people (mostly cute biker ladies, judging by yalls voices) whose names i didn't catch. you know who you are.

yeh dude that was me. i had gotten the other tube in by that point and had to seat the tire, pump and adjust the chain.
i was leading you to east broadway to essex to the bridge. i saw you make the sidewalk from stjames with me, but didnt see you after that.

haha well thanks for trying to show me the way. the block after the sidewalk i had to make an evasive right turn to avoid getting crushed and got turned around as all ****. what'd you end up finishing? i'll fantasize than i managed to hang in there with ya and finish better than i actually did.

one of the best things about the ride and i'd imagine rides like this in general is the comraderie ya feel with other riders during the race and the collaboration. it might be a race but it's not a "me against you" sorta competition. the competitive aspect of alleycats was what kept me away for so long but out there riding i definitely didn't feel it in any negative way.

boots - i'd say that'd definitely be reason for a malpractice suit. however, since you just popped it in yourself at home and don't have any evidence that it wasn't actually put in place by the doc you might not be able to sue. that sucks though man. hope ya feel better soon.

so where did all the forumers end up in the results. i'm imaginging some of you did pretty well. what are the names to match to the pseudonyms? i'm up there in 77! spirit of 77 all the way!

so the bike got fixed? dailey busted the **** out of that crankarm. haha. at least i got my run in. and i hope i get my crankpuller back on monday.

edit: this is regarding the surly on rollers for the goldsprints. and i already answered the question about results, but i'm pretty stoked, so i'll say that somehow ended up in 8'th. but that isn't how you spell my last name.

I really think something got messed up here. I'm pretty sure I came in after Nikki (Yoshi) and he was in the 90's. I have no shame in taking a lower # but I really don't think I placed from what the site said.

Probably just swapped 40 and 46 by mistake (as 46 is indeed a few places after me). But really, does it matter? I just hope #46 doesn't mind that he got bumped from the 50s to the 90s.

I should have just asked what my placement was once i signed in. If it is a mixup, sorry to # 46
