that's the official line, but i saw a few roadbikes last year. nobody's inspecting bikes, if that's what you're asking - and if you're not gonna win, there'll be nothing to dispute. so unless something's changed, i wouldn't worry about it.

the rules are, no brakes. i think i saw someone there last year with a brake. i consider it poor sportsmanship. i used a brake until monstertrack. i took off my brake, tacoed my front on the way to the race, and learned quickly. take off your brake and treat it like a funride.

people that ride with brakes or gears in MT are pu$$ies and need to just be a good sportsman and follow the rules. That's the spirit and point of monster track.

Brooklyn, just take off the brake and take it easy, it'll be a fun ride whether you are competing or not.

the whole damn point of the race is to do it on a (track) bike without brakes.

if you want to just finish go slower.

I'd wear it but then you'd have long footage of me riding by myself... not because I'm so far ahead, but quite the opposite. That'd make a boring video, but I'll be sure to do some stupid traffic dodging and pedestrian hitting.

Thanks for the advice. I think it is more of a mental thing than anything. Even though i have the brake i dont use it. I have had some experiences with stripping my old wheel so i always left it on.

Are you sure it was of monster track? The only videos I've seen of monster track didn't have any non-track bikes in them.
