well, it makes it easier to sneak you bike on a bus, plane, or train. Also plastic doesn’t rust.

Eew. No thanks. The only plastic I (might) trust on a bike comes in the form of a carbon weave.

My friend has an older Schwinn mountain bike that's plastic. She likes riding it, though it is a bit flexy.

I think I agree with the website that that information is from - that the "plastic" bike is nothing more than an interesting and bizarre attempt to scam some unwitting folks out of their money. What would Sheldon say?
