Somec Track...so far....
Here it is...PERFECT BIKE!!!! For me...after testing no toe overlap even with a tight geometry..might have been solved with 165 Track Cranks and track pedals and Size S Clips...But I am super happy about that. Test drove also brakeless without any scary moments...although I'm not sure when I'm going to try SUPER steel hills.
So Far is equiped with: Formula track hubs on Mavic rims (wish I got the Suzue Promax with glitter just $80bucks more..damnit) Dura-Ace Aero seat post (not installed yet) Brooks Special b-17 Sakae Stem w/ chopped drops Gipiemme(sp?) 165 Special Track cranks MKS Sylvan Track pedals christophe clips and straps http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/9897/somec9mb.jpg http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/1867/somec11ok.jpg http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/2927/somec28yt.jpg http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/876/somec36ng.jpg http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/2393/somec48wv.jpg http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/8594/somec58kl.jpg |
Very nice.
You can get one of those snap-on front brakes until you feel more comfortable brakeless. |
Woah, that one turned out super nice. Congrats!
|
nice...its geometry is tight but it looks like a bit longer wheelbase than some...the reason i find that important is handling in traffic. how's that gone?
EDIT: one second thought, it's not that big a difference. and it's a very nice bike...i realize i didn't emphasize that enough at first. purty. |

dang man, I think fixed gear (not to mention brakeless) for the street is rather silly but even I think that bike is sexy.

Probably easier.
BikeWorksNYC would be my recommendation. |
DROOL!
That thing is gorgeous! now chop that saddle! Quick before the seatpost explodes!!! ;) |
Hot! What's the gearing?

That bike is niiice. It's refreshing to see a pair of track cranks that aren't 75's. Adds a bit of uniqueness to it. Plus I dig that pixelated design on the logos. Very hot bike.
|
and you wanted to put RDs on that bike.
It looks like it might explode... you should let me test ride it... send it out to me and I'll check so you won't get hurt. We are very concerned about your wellbeing...:) |

Looks like my buddy's bike .... exact same frame. I am jelous ...
Congratulations. |
that is ****ing hot. i want it. can your bike and i go on a date?
humancongereel, maybe you think it has a longer wheelbase because short bikes tend to look like that, because of their general length-to-height ration is bigger than taller bikes. short bikes are Le Hot. usually other people's bikes don't turn me on, but this is an exception. well done seaden. |

the gearing is 46 x 18 and yes those are just chopped bars.
|
Where the hell did you find a somec track frame?
|
Very nice!
I'm still sad it was too small for me. |

But that thing is small for me, I mean way to small! I was gonna throw a super long stem/seatpost on but I doubt if it would of worked. Congrats, it's a beautiful frame! |
