I rock tights under my jeans for extra warmth...I either roll the jeans up to my knees or tuck the cuffs under my socks. I've been forgetting to do that here and there and thank god always catch myself a block later.

I learned the hard way that one must do this every time. My favorite pair of jeans that I had since high school got totally destroyed when I first started riding because the leg wasn't rolled up enough. Never again.

the one pair of jeans I wear mkost of the time are too long for me so I have to have them rolled to even be a normal length and I roll the right one more when I ride.

In the cold or wet I wear a pair of nylon cycling pants from MEC over my regular pants. They have velcro at the cuffs, so it's easy enough to cinch them and they stay away from the chain. I also sometimes roll up a leg or two and wear a pair of leg-warmers... not the Shants style though, the black cycling kind. I love those things.

In the Summer I generally either rock the one or two leg (depending on the weather, really) roll up during the week in my office-wear. Weekends same thing or cut off dickies, or my favorite shorts... old cut off Volcom cargos that are made with a material so heavy duty that I know I'm either going to lose or ruin them somehow because they will NEVER wear out.

tapered jeans seem like they'd solve the problem of having to cuff your pants up. if you want to look like a girl then go for this.
i cuff the driveside leg and pull it above my calf because its too tight on the calf.

anyone have baldspots on their calves from rubbing on your jeans?

550s are huge, do you wear a smaller size than your waist? i had a pair of 550s in my size and they were super baggy around the ankle and knee.

Oh, and I use a velcro strap and leave the left leg unrolled. Grease stains are sexy.

x whatever it is on the tights under the pants.
For me it's not so much about the insulation than it is trying to keep skin unexposed. Oh, and I heart everything windstopper (vest, jacket, gloves...need pants).

roll both sides up. They're rolled up right now. If I'm riding I have them rolled like half way up my calfs i guess. If it's hot or I'm not riding I roll them up to shorts-length.

Yeah matt_savy!

I've got great fashion for the winter. I always roll with both leg of my jeans (what? there is another kind of pants?) cuffed to mid-shin. In the winter I sport a pair of high socks -- my first pair was part of my old high school soccer uniform. Since then I found more of them around and I've got a couple pairs now.

I'm a big geek, too -- I ride clipless and sport my shoes, with my cuffed pants, aaaaallllll day.

Yeah, me too sometimes, and I think people are starting to think of me as that crazy (in a dirty, unbalanced, loony way) bike guy. Sort of like that guy who only wears sweatpants, ALL THE TIME. This is in an office, mind you. Any other place they'd just be lazy slobs.

You're not allowed to buy them. They've gotta just somehow end up in your dresser.

Them's the rules.
