Always have your pant leg rolled or tucked

Riding home and giving my new rider friend tips on railroad tracks my pant leg got caught in the chain.. Next thing I know I was tackled by my bike... I had been drinking so I kinda went limp and the fall face forward turned out ok. I was laying in the street laughing because it must have looked funny as hell. My ankle is hurting like a ***** and my hip is scraped and pretty sore.

right always rolled or in summer cut off.

sometimes i buy dickies, roll them in winter,
cut them calf length when it warms up, then
if it gets really hot, cut them to shorts-length.
...then buy new ones and start over.

I always have my pants rolled up... on both legs. Even when i'm not riding.

I dunno... it just feels better to me when not riding, and is the smart thing to do when riding.

I use those old school metal pants clips to keep my jeans out of the way in the winter. Or I just roll them up in summer. I also have some army pants that have crazy bottom cuffs that tuck into the sock, and then there is another cuff above it that tightens over the sock with drawstrings. good for keeping out the breeze in the winter

yeah, it's too cold in NYC these days to roll your pants up. I dont have one of those ankle bands, so i just kinda tightroll my pants and then jack my sock up and stuff my pants in em. i also tuck my laces, on both feet, into my shoes. i havent had my pants eaten on fixed yet, but i've had my laces wrap around my pedal and almost toss me. luckily both times the laces broke.

driveside shant is how i roll--you know how we DO! no worries about the laces as i always (and i mean always) sport those crazy elastic and leather aussie boots as they slide right into my straps. i even sleep in 'em, mate!

yep - damn near feels like you're going to lose your foot when the lace starts getting wound tightly around the crank.

Yeah, I once had a MTA bus honking at me at every intersection for blocks cause one of my laces was loose. That was nice.
