Fgg 3000

damnit!
bike 3000 on the fgg is a conversion ...wtf.

dobber 02-09-06 04:40 AM

And a nice one it is.

Surferbruce 02-09-06 10:37 AM

man, i'm so over the conversion hating. track bikes are rad, but really, c'mon. it's not track bike gallery, it's fixed gear gallery. the pendulum will swing. it always does.

Fugazi Dave 02-09-06 12:02 PM

zOMFG NOT A CONVERSION DRAMA DRAMA WTF

:p

Lucky-Charms 02-09-06 12:11 PM

The guy took an old (pos) bike that his bike geek father had sitting in the garage, took the time to learn how to build up a proper conversion, laced his own wheels, and built up a nice bike.

He did it himself, learned the skills he needed, and is proud of his work, as well he should be.

Sounds like a fine canidate for #3000, and as bruce said, it's fgg not tbg.

Surferbruce 02-09-06 01:09 PM

sorry

... some of us are really cheap. :D

The LT 02-09-06 03:17 PM

I think that bike is sweet...and you can tell he put a lot of time into putting it together

shishi 02-09-06 03:51 PM

3000 already, damn

seely 02-09-06 03:54 PM

Isn't a conversion kind of the essence of the whole fixed gear thing? Simple, cheap, reliable? Working with what you have? Maybe its just me but I think a conversion is a very fitting #3000, or #2688, or #5,794... I didn't realize that 3000 was a magic number.

crushkilldstroy 02-09-06 04:21 PM

i love it when people throw pre-conversion pictures into the mix. before and afters rule.

Sinfield 02-09-06 04:59 PM

He did an amazing job on that bike. One of the few conversions that I actually really really like. Nice simple, cohesive build. Just goes to show that some people have an innate sense of style.

efarrar 02-09-06 05:43 PM

I want some of those yellow michelins...

And I bet its rider is a hipster... with a chrome bag... full of pies... and jam... etc. etc. etc.

Jesse M 02-09-06 06:00 PM

he needs to plug up those water bottle cage holes.

matt_savvy 02-09-06 06:11 PM

his top photo is also photoshopped.

xthugmurderx 02-09-06 06:36 PM

they're vittorias. probably rubinos. probably about $30 if your lbs carries them or you order them. rubinos are the jam. (as some folks would say)

WakeUpOnFire 02-09-06 06:40 PM

It's the Fixed Gear Gallery, not the Track Bike Gallery.

Moximitre 02-09-06 06:56 PM

Remember that old commercial when the guy litters on the road, and the Indian has a single tear? Yeah, I was like that...

Oh wait... who cares, its a really nice bike.

mattface 02-09-06 07:24 PM

Oh yeah, and nice bike.

DoshKel 02-09-06 08:10 PM

God what an amazing bike.

I don't know why, but this might be my favorite I have seen on FGG so far.

I freaked out when I opened the page.

benny 02-09-06 08:12 PM

Surferbruce 02-09-06 08:19 PM
