Awesome, I was actually born right outside of Kiev. The pics are of pretty much the very center of Kiev, its the street right after you step out of the metro hrechatok(sp). My grandfather actually worked in one of the buildings on that street right after ww2, when it was still bombed out and broken.

I just recently moved up to the CA heights area after living off 4th. It sucks up here, so I rode this very same route for the first time a few days ago (got on at wardlow). I didnt care for it much. Pretty boring except the horses (I was all "WTF?" when I saw them, but the horses didnt seem to notice. But then again, I only said it to myself so I dont blame the horses for not responding.) I rode home LB blvd and I think I will take that route from now on.

On the way back:
Me: stopped at a light
crazy homeless guy with no shoes: "hey man can I get that shoe [sic]?"
me: "nope..." light changed... I rode off
chgwns: holding his pants up
It was real exciting.

That is Barlow Trail Road - it's really far from downtown and a ways southeast of Troutdale, heading towards Mt Hood. I took that photo on a solo century ride in June. (10,000 ft of climbing.)
